I started collecting in 2006/2007 and was a sucker for these things. Two I remember are... • A NASCAR box that had three random packs and a diecast inside I bought from Target. • And a jumbo football box that had a ton of packs from WalMart. I got a sweet spot pack and ended up getting one of those helmet autographs. EDIT: Also, I LOVED UD Masterpieces. One of my all-time favorite products.

I have to say that every time you have a video going to different swap meets or antique shops, I get extremely jealous because here on Oahu in Hawaii we have a swap meet with only new touristy type of products and clothes and not 1 antique shop with cards periodically in them. Add to that there are only 4 LCS on the whole island and only 1 in the Waikiki range where I live, I open packs vicariously through your shows. Mahalo for the videos.

I remember back when I was in college I would go buy some big boxes kinda like these at toys r us. Some would come with pins you could wear or a graded card. Fun times.

I opened one of those Fairfield boxes the other day and found Topps Heritage in my Bowman pack. They are replacing them, but you never know what you might find when you open one of those. Pretty exciting.

I used to buy similar boxes when I was a kid, before the tristar world's greatest boxes existed there used to be some solid packed boxes, K-Mart used to have 20 modern pack boxes for $25 or something (granted this was 2006-2009ish), some solid sets back then when there was more than just 1 licensed MLB card producer!

Any vintage wrappers you don’t keep, I will take. I make collages and frame them for my man cave wall art. Also make table decorations under glass for the table top design. Just a little hobby

The second box was definately the better box, but not by much. That very Mark Prior relic card is listed on Ebay from anywhere between $2 - $3. A similar one sold for $1.50 this past Saturday. However, it looks like the gray colored ones like you have from his road jersey go for slightly more money.

I remember when I was very young one local shop around me actually got in trouble for heating up and searching through the wax packs. Essentially after that they became pretty much comics only and very little cards.

Yup I stayed away from the 89 & 90's cards collected mostly newer stuff better chance of getting good stuff in them I did buy a box of that bigger box but it was all Topps from Walmart lol

Was going through my old shoe box of unmatchable singles. Came across a SF Giants RC of Bill White. From the back of the card I learned Bill was just out of the army. Did his minor league service, then did his Army service, then went straight into the majors. Wonder what his MOS was? Special services I’d guess.

Don't like being the bringer of bad news but, the first box you open was repackaged. Someone probably open a few boxes in the store, took the good packs and left the rest of the packs on the shelf. Then the store takes what is left and repackages another box. The store doesn't do anything about it because they are then getting original retail price for the good packs. Both boxes were originally sold at Walmart and Kmart years ago, the store you bought them from probably got them at a steep reduced price when the store that originally had it was trying to make room for new supplies.

This purchase would have really upset me, if I had spent the money. The only card that got a reaction out of me was the Ken Griffey Jr in your first Fleer Ultra pack. I was always, and still, after Ken Griffey Jr cards. Thing is, after that hit, I didn't feel that you got anything worth a reaction. That second box was way over priced, even with the Pryor hit.

I think the best pack was the UD Masterpieces as the cards have that canvas painting feel and look to them. I have the Cal Ripken,Jr. card that's featured on the pack front. Not bad with the other packs but the prices did seem a bit high.
