Tony Gwynn was one of the greatest players of all time.

Gwynn may be the most underrated player ever.Maybe it's because he played his whole career for the Padres. But he doesnt get his props as one of the top hitters of all time..

@@cheddarcheese7928most underrated player ever? doesn't get his props? he had 3000+ hits, and was inducted into the hall of fame with a lifetime avg of.338............unfortunately, it can't be tony gwynn day everyday.

Gwynn was awesome but I have to give it to Boggs for being better. Gwynn WAR 69.2; Boggs WAR 91.4

Pulling the 3 big rookies out of a box like that, even with all those packs, you'd think is still impossible....... that was pretty damn cool ! Loved watching.

At 10:07 there is an uncorrected error on Sandberg, as it says he grew up in Spokane, West Virginia instead of Washington.

Broke my heart with that homer! Willie Stargell my favl. Lots of baseball info. Sandberg is pretty awesome. Good looking. One touch is a good idea. Shows you care. Love the Yaz! Moose Haas.

No love for Vida Blue and Dave Stewart? Two of the awesome Mudcat Grant's black aces and at their best absolute monsters to face for batters. Blue especially had electric stuff, damn near unhittable in his prime and maybe the most naturally gifted left-handed pitcher ever! What may have been if not for his addiction struggle...

Nice easy to read card backs. The backside of a card if 50% of the real estate but yet so seldom underused. Fleer greatly improved their product over 80-82 but the Topps set of 83 is much better.

Gwynn played a year of minor league ball in Hawaii. It's really unique some of the things they had to do to make that work considering their closest opponent was 2500 miles away, but the Islanders were one of the most popular and well attended teams in the minors for a long time.

lol the love for Pirate cards. Im from Philly area and I see these Philly cards and think wow those guys went to the World Series in 83 and no love for those cards lol. I remember buying some 83 Fleer packs and getting a Sandberg rookie and being so excited. - this was in the 1990's and cards were exploding in popularity then. Thanks for the memories.

My entire card collection began on that box, in 1984. Bought that box for 7 dollars at a card shop. I can guarantee you I got a couple Tony Gwynn cards, can’t remember the others. I was a Ryne fan later so I wouldn’t have paid attention to that card. (I was 9, and I ate every piece of gum... eventually.)
