If anyone's struggling while copying multiple frames, as of now (2024) there actually is a workaround about this! you can copy the frames you need right in the timeline, then create a blank level, rightclick on that level inside the timeline, and there you can find the 'paste special' option, which then leads to a 'paste as a copy' option! click that, and opentoonz will automatically create duplicate frames with their own names!

Do you know if there´s a way to copy keyframes into a new scene? For example, I have an animation of a level with i´ts keyframes, so I want to drag that animation that I made (with the frames and the keyframes). Like copy it but to a new scene. I tried to copy and paste it into the new scene, in another window, but I got a message that said: "unable to paste data: there is nothing to paste." Do you think that there´s a way to put the keyframes into a new scene? or, I have to do all the animation again in the new scene?.

so lets say you have an object with a setting in the background and you want to copy all of that ? does that mean you will have to use the select tool on the whole frame ? because in your case you are only selecting one object inside the frame

I’m new to this software and just created a draft animation and when I copied and pasted the frames I didn’t realise it would edit the original frame until it was too late! 🥲 Aaaahhh! Anyway had to start over but wanted to check and see what I was doing wrong and found this video. It’s so clear and simple and now I will be able to animate properly without making that mistake again… 🫠

Why does most animation software link frames that are copied like that by default? Copying the drawing via selection is more of a hack than a proper workflow. What if the frame was more complicated or had layers etc... think about how dumb that is. I ran into the same problem with Krita.

That's strange they're linked like that at default. Is there a setting in Preferences that turns it off?

I'm trying to change the opacity of individual frames, but when I change one, all the others in that level change as well. How do I fix that>

The copy paste thing doesn't work for opacity level. The opacity of the level stays the same throughout all frames no matter what. Is there a way to change the opacity within the drawing rather than within the level?
