once again it's 3am and one of your videos helps me out

Hi. These are the videos that we like (tips). Many of us continue with radio controlled planes and with the classic Taranis. Thank you

Thanks for the comment, this is actually a remade video from a video that I actually made about three years ago on exactly the same topic. Check out the OpenTx Mix School for lots more information.

Very nice tip and demonstration on differential thrust. Having this on a switch to enable / disable is great. Thanks for the video and Happy Flying!

Another cracking painless vid. Its a pretty good plane too

Thank you - great plane IMHO. Like the excellent Tundra but even better for FPV...

Really nice! Thanks a lot for that! 😊

I have this set up on my Catalina float plane, it works great for taxing around on the water. I also have the trainer switch enabled to turn the function on and off.

Great vid as always. Thought....wouldn't you want some logic so the differential thrust doesn't kick in until you have throttle at say 20%. I think that would also be a safety thing because at zero throttle if you yaw or put some rudder in one of your motors will spin up. Do I have that right???? Thanks again!
@Painless3606 жыл бұрын
You could absolutely do that. I’d recommend always adding a throttle disarming switch to any mix, including one for fixed wing. Happy flying!
@chrismccracken6 жыл бұрын
Can you have 2 different mixes with different %'s that you can select between with a switch to have different settings for on the ground vs air? This would be particularly useful on the Bushmule with floats, where differential thrust makes performance on the water WAY better (particularly if you have wind).
@Painless3606 жыл бұрын
Yes you can, there are a few ways to do it but I’d use Flight modes to configure everything. See my video on them.. best of luck!

I have seen this on Spektrum but wanted to do this in OpenTX!

This is a remake of an older video as many were not finding it (FrSky TARANIS Quick Tip - Setting up differential thrust on two/twin engine models kzbin.info/www/bejne/g4HPop9-mr2Cepo)
@DrDiff9526 жыл бұрын
It was perfect timing as I had been Eyeballing a twin motor wing in the tractor configuration. And differential thrust would basically give me a wing but with "rudder".

Great video, what transmitter are you using?

It is the OpenTX companion app simulating a Taranis X9D+ radio.. See my video on using Companion..

Thanks for the very useful info. I'm trying to adapt this for an indoor foamie, is it feasible to put rudder and differential thrust into the aileron channel together with normal elevator? i.e like a normal 2 channel model but with differential thrust added or is this a step too far? I have had loads of problems, usually with things like the differential thrust only working in one direction or the elevator switching on the differential thrust.
@Painless3606 жыл бұрын
You can do that in the radio..
@ZuNunchaku2 жыл бұрын
Do we still need vertical stabilizer and/or rudder with this setup? What happened if we chop off the vertical stabilizer completely?
@Painless3602 жыл бұрын
You can try and see. Usually there is tail wag without enough vertical stabiliser.. Best of luck
@ZuNunchaku2 жыл бұрын
@@Painless360 is tail wag still there although using reverse thrust? Before i destroy my plane. I need encourage first 😂

Thanks for the explanations! Do you know if the services are metal or plastic gears? I will buy to use in fpv, I need quality services
@Painless3604 жыл бұрын
I'm guessing you mean servos? That detail will be in the product listing on Hobbyking. Happy flying!
@JuniorLobo764 жыл бұрын
@@Painless360 Yes, I'm talking about servos for moving ailerons, elevator, rudder and flaps.

Cooed this mix be used to operate something like a tracked vehicle?
@Painless3605 жыл бұрын
Sort of. Most tracked vehicles need a reverse too.. May be worth a video on that...
@jackdaniels79135 жыл бұрын
Got the idea from another video you did about setting up reverse on a switch for RC cars, thought on that note you may be able to use a momentary switch to engage the brake feature with the right mix/delay? Thanks for everything and good luck hope this is of some use.

Help. Could you please confirm that the dys f4 fc Uart 3 tx and rx are reversed. Many thanks.

That’s not a flight controller I have here to test. Best of luck!

Painless360 Hi again. Many thanks for replying, many dont. I can confirm that on the DYS F4 Pro V2 Flight controller Uart 3, that the Rx pad and the Tx pad are INCORRECT. The Tx is the Rx pad and the Rx is the Tx pad. Took a few hours of digging and a few mishaps but I got there in the end. Please pass this info on should any enquire. Respect.
