Thanks! I've got 2 years in the hobby and I'm still very new to Open TX. Your videos are a great source of information for learning.

Nice one Lee! I'm going to try this tip to set up a simple throttle cut for my glow planes.

A great video, thanks Lee, it’s given me an idea to set up a couple of switched commands in OTX.

Open TX definitely needs an update I agree Lee. It's about time we had Taranis X9D with a decent resolution colour touch screen and icon/wizard driven OS, "open TX for dummies", sounds like my ideal release!

I have a very special request on open TX for you, as I can't find the answer anywhere, and you seem to be able to figure out how to do everything and anything on open tx ;) I want to use timer 3 but can't find where to program it, I heard it can be done via logical switch, but have no idea how to do it. What I would like to do is following: I have a motorized glider. Timer one works for throttle, counting up or down, % or constant doesn't matter. Timer two is on a switch and used for total flight time of current flight. Timer 3 I would like to have adding all current flight times so to speak as persistent timer with manual reset. How can I do this? If you have a spare moment I would be so very happy to have me help out with this! All the best, regards from the Andes in EC

@@Painless360 found out I had the 2.1.1 firmware version on my Tx still, in which timer 3 wasn't displayed along the other timers in the menu. Now got around to installing the companion and 'latest and greatest' firmware 2.2.3 Easy as pie, thanks for your work on openTX videos Lee!

Do you know how to put the trim on the opposite sticks?

Thanks. I got F3 flight controller and I would appreciate if you give me tips to control 5 servos based on the outputs of Gyro and accelerometer.

It depends on the FC. Many of the newer flight controllers for fixed wing are designed to work with multiple servos out of the box - see my fixed wing playlist..

Your way seems awfully complicated. I need a similar thing when flying with a glow engine. I have a high idle for starting and taking to the flight line, a mid idle for flying and a slow idle for landing. I accomplish this by assigning separate trims to each flight mode. START - FLIGHT - LANDING then when I flick the flight mode switch it adjusts the trim to suit.

Great idea, thanks for posting! More of us need to be sharing neat ideas..

By doing this you lose the full range of the stick movement. So as you move the stick to full throttle it reaches 100% before you get to the top end point, which makes it not linear anymore and feels very strange. I really hope OpenTx can improve this by allowing us to move the trim position by value. We can currently do a lot with trims apart from setting the trim value. lol

Hi. Im looking for assistance for programing various RC setups for the new MT12 surface radio. I got the basic stuff no problem from using open/edgeTX for years but running into trouble programing gimbal/turret functionality to work on a joystick without returning to center when released. Just like a video game controller works for a first person shooter where movement only occurs once you move the stick past the center. Please link a video if you have covered this in a different format

This is a little tricky as you need a way to 'store' the channel value outside of the normal system. GVs are handy. Oh e made a few videos on this type of stuff in the cars and trucks playlist... i.e. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gJDFaph9fsmShK8

Why couldn't he just use one of the regular 3 position switches ? and for engine cut he could just use channel overdrive at -120. other than that, this is what the GV's are for. Also I'm not sure why you're setting up special functions and logical switches here. all 3 position switches and the trim buttons are available in the mix screen. you could just do all this in the mix screen. "TheTrim Up" = Max weight +20.
