This is really helpful cheers. I am supposed to use VLAN 911 for Cityfibre FTTP in the UK and I was wondering where on earth this VLAN config was supplosed to be set up. Now it makes sense. They don't half make things complicated these days :-)

I recently acquired a netgear wax206 and managed to install the latest openwrt snapshot on it, but configuring the network has so far not been successful (I have a gigabit fibre ONT and want to replace the Service Provider router). However, i find that my Luci does not have this 'switch' interface/management page you are configuring on. Kindly advice, is there a way i can go about installing the switch configuration page, if not, what other ways can i go about configuring the network. Thanks again.

Can you kindly share the model number of the Huawei ONT you showed at last in the sequence where you mention of ONTs (around 1:07) that you says as already configured by ISP in bridge mode with your D-Link openwrt router? Thanks.

The GPON router at 0:55 is the ZTE F670Y, the router at 1:09 is the Huawei EchoLife HG8240H. To turn the GPON router to bridge mode, you can do that or ask your ISP to push the configuration remotely.

@@VanTechCorner Thank you for your prompt reply. My ISP need me to upgrade to an upper tariff plan if they need to bridge their device the TR069 way. I was specifically looking for an ONT/Gateway without WiFi capabilities but with GE and POTS port.

You can try manually set it to bridge mode, but in some case the ISP can push an update and overwritten the changes. From what I know, the ISP shall provide you the ONT as it need to work with the devices from their ends. If you are willing to upgrade to a higher plan, ask them to change to a new ONT and they should have it available. Huawei EchoLife series have some model comes with GE and POTS.

No I have no plans of upgrading as I'm already paying an outrageous price for the sub-standard service they are offering. But that doesn't stop me trying to circumvent their merely profit oriented restrictions. You are doing an awesome job with these OpenWrt series videos. It taught me a great deal. Please continue producing more OpenWRT videos. More on VLANs are always welcome. Thanks again.

Hi ​ @VanTechCorner I would like to use Nanopi R6S as my main router and my Asus RT-AC86U as my AP. I'm based in Malaysia and I'm using TM Unifi. TM Unifi use VLAN 500 for Internet and VLAN 600 for Hypptv. Since Nanopi R6S has 1 WAN Port and 2 LAN Ports, Can I do the following: WAN Port = VLAN 500 LAN Port Number 1 = Connect to AP for WiFi and LAN to PC (Internet Connectivity) LAN Port Number 2 = VLAN 600 and connect with Hypptv Is this possible? Hi, my ISP requires the VLAN QoS value to 1. Protocol IEEE 802.1p. Is it possible to set it in OpenWRT?

How can you setup DHCP protocol on the VLAN? and how can you set the priority on any given VLAN? I have to set priority 0 for my VLAN (1074), and it has to have activated the DHCP protocol, but I'm not finding that setting. Also, in the switch settings, I've two CPU columns and I don't know if I've to tag them for both Ethernet and WAN or if i've got to set one for eth and the other one for wan. Hi, did you solve the problem? the WAN interface is in DHCP client mode with default configuration, or you can follow my guide at 2:45 to change the mode. After finish created the VLAN in the switch page, you can just go to Network Interfaces, edit the WAN interface, go to the Physical tab and change the interface to eth*.1074 and it should be enough. Regarding the switch page, 1 CPU is for the WAN interface and 1 CPU is for LAN interface. Make sure both the WAN port and the WAN CPU port is tagged, the rest leave it untouched.

@@VanTechCorner Hi there! Yes, I solved the problem by creating the DHCP (v4) protocol attached to the WAN (pppoe) protocol and it worked. IDK if it's right but I've both cpu's tagged for WAN and LAN, is it better to have one cpu dedicated to each protocol? Thank you for taking your time to answer me!

Chào bạn, nếu sử dụng router nhà mạng bạn cần chuyển nó về bridge mode, việc PPPoE có hay không có VLAN phụ thuộc vào nhà mạng khi chuyển sang bridge mode họ có tag sẵn VLAN trên router hay không, nếu tag sẵn thì không cần tag VLAN trên router OpenWrt nữa.

Hey, you just need to create a new interface, and in the physical interface, enter physical-interface.vlanID and that is. For example, if you want to setup VLAN 35 on eth1, then new interface will be eth1.35. See video at 7:05.

Hi Bro, I am using NanoPi R2S, and there is a multi dial method, where you can create more VLAN, and multidial PPPOE to increase the bandwidth. This method works, if ISP don't block the multiple login with same ID. Can you show a video tutorial on this topic? I think your OPENWRT can also create multi wan.

Hi, this is not supported with OpenWRT. If you want to create multiple PPPoE connections on one phy interface, try RouterOS VRRP.

Hi, I have no idea what is your question. If your router is behind the ISP provided router that is working in bridge mode (just converting fiber to rj45), then this is the video to follow.

Lúc đầu mình cũng nghĩ nó phức tạp lắm nhưng thật ra nó rất đơn giản. Hoặc là tiện hơn bạn mua con smart switch về chia VLAN xong cắm thẳng vào OpenWRT để quay PPPoE và chịu tải cũng được.
