Yes, that really is Brian singing. He has a gentle, almost angelic voice here doesn’t he? Brian had a bit of a solo career as well, dropping 2 studio albums ( *Back To the Light* and *Another World*, both very good albums.)

YES! There's the man. First seeing this the beginning tho', I was sad....surprised not getting Freddie's power...but when that came in, WOW, a good video - entertaining. Love the children too. Brian wrote the beautiful song, loved singing it. Wanted to do it for the film but Freddie got that assignment. Understandable. Yes!!! Freddie's life is 'forever', I mean gone 32 yrs now but Still HERE!. Thanks for this.

This song was written by Brian May to the movie The Highlander and it's about the immortality of the hero. Pls, check out the official video of another great song from the same movie, written by Freddie called Princes Of The Universe. This is not opera, but Freddie had the vocal range and skills to sing operatic songs.

You must listen to Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe singing Barcelona, live at La Nit. Also, same two, How Can I Go On. Must listen to music

Thanks, Reality - Brian May playing organ and also singing.. (he wrote the song for the movie "Highlander"..seems like you got cut off at the very end, though) Brian was an amazing singer... you will hear the difference when Freddie comes in... the band agreed at some point that "everything sounds better when Freddie sings it"... yet both Brian & drummer Roger Taylor had the vocal talent to have fronted their own bands... and John Deacon, the bass player was not a singer but a fantastic songwriter... all four of them have written #1 hits.. the only band with that distinction... I enjoy your reactions!

You must watch the live version. Brians voice is more gentle. You can also watch him in the song" too much love will kill. you" beside Freddies version. Queen will live forever ❤

Hello Reality Thug!! Brian May penned this beauty for the 1986 Highlander movie after watching a clip from the film. In fact, each member of Queen wrote songs for the soundtrack. In the comments, PRINCES OF THE UNIVERSE (Freddie) is recommended. Also check out GIMME THE PRIZE (Brian), ONE YEAR OF LOVE (John), A KIND OF MAGIC & DON’T LOSE YOUR HEAD (Roger). 🛡️⚔️ 👑

As other people have mentioned, this song was written by Brian, and it was for the soundtrack of a movie that Queen was commissioned to write. So it was not personal at all. But by this time, even though Freddie had not be officially diagnosed with AIDS, he must have had a very strong suspicion of his condition. To hear him singing this, knowing what he knew, it's heartbreaking to me. The live version from the Wembley 1986 concert is also incredible.

I love this song and this video is excellent and yes, it is really Brian singing in the beginning. Both Brian and Roger have been lead vocalists in their own bands but when you have Freddie as a Frontman, you might as well let him do the honors most of the time. Thank you for your reaction.

I really wish people would remember that Queen is not just Freddie Mercury! The other three members are and were equally talented. I’d recommend Brian May’s “too much love will kill you”.

Feel your emotion describing this. In a way I think I feel so emotional because it will not be repeated. We adore our legends but they are no more. Until next era, but will be only after turmoil and renewal.
