Love your enthusiastic reactions to music. Rob and Austin did Nessun Dorma a little bit ago and I think you would appreciate it. Rob actually trained to sing opera for a while before coming to join Home Free and Austin was trained for Broadway. I hope you add it to your list!❤

Home Free isn't just country. They do doowop, 50s sound, sea shanties, working with other stars such as Kenny Rogers and Don McLean, soul and other genres. Austin, Tim and Chance also have their own websites where they perform solo.

That Southern twang you love comes naturally to the Home Free men. Austin's drawl was so thick when he first joined HF that Tim had to "translate" for him.

Rob, the other tenor, is classically trained. Austin is theatrically trained. AND, in my opinion, Adam Rupp is the best of the Best in not just beatboxing but also his ability to make greats with his voice. Take for instance, him being able to make the harmonica sounds.

Every sound in the video is created by mouth, including the old record crackle at the beginning. They can play up the country twang, or turn it off, depending on the song. Adam Chance created the mouth harp sounds using throat singing. Austin and Tim come by their sourhern rwang naturally. Austin is from Georgia, and Tim is from Texas.
@nightthornkvala941326 ай бұрын
Actually, they all can beatbox. They did a video for Dolly Parton's 9 to 5, placing in and office setting. In concert they did 9 to 5 + Beatboxing Breakdown, adding their humor and their beatboxing talent. The instrument Chance is mimicking is called jaw harp, juice harp, mouth harp, or jews harp, depending on the Southern location. To get a great example of how deep Tim's bass can go check out the various versions of Home Free's Your Man. And please don't pass on Home Free Concert Morrison, IL 8/19/15. The whole 27 minutes is a lot of fun, with their great singing, they humor, and their byplay with the audience. Your Man starts right after the bit at 6:45 and thing start to go hilariously wrong.
@lindanearing47106 ай бұрын
The other 4 can do basic beatbox, but not even close to the skill level of Adam Rupp. He's world class.

Great Reaction!! Welcome to Home Free rabbit hole. The group started in 2000/2001( there’s contention on the year)by brothers Chris and Adam Rupp They won The Sing Off season 4 2013 that's where they became very popular. They are the only country A Capella ( all vocals no instruments)group but they are honestly do so so much more than just country music they can sing any genre and they do. There is no Lead singer in the group.They each ( except Adam )sing the song and who’s ever voice or voices sound right for the song gets the lead unless is a bass/ baritone song then that’s Tim or Chance.A lot of time they each have a part in the song. Fans of Home Free are known as Home Fries and are very loyal to the guys. Adam Rupp: Beatboxer Extraordinaire can make almost any sound imaginable (A whole drum kit, harmonica (his Nomonica we call it )plane flyovers, trains, castanets, bugs ,birds etc).Co founder from Mankato Minnesota. Rob Lundquist :Lead tenor(beard and glasses) Very soulful voice and master whistler from Minneapolis,Minnesota Tim Foust :Bass (had long dark hair now short with grey ) 5+ octave range can go so low he blows speakers or sky high from Nederland,Texas Austin Brown:High Tenor ( Long wavy hair )Voice of an angel from Tifton Georgia.He will be leaving the group in the fall. Adam Chance(Aka Chance):Baritone/Bass Deep,rich voice(Does the juice harp sound in Man Of Constant Sorrow) has short dark hair short beard from Baldwin County,Alabama.Replaced Chris Rupp ( Adams Brother and co founder in 2016) They have collaborated with many singers and legends Don McLean: Vincent (newest release) Don McLean:American Pie Oak Ridge Boys:Elvira Kenny Rodgers:Children Go Where I Send Thee (Please watch the end message) Billy Gilman:One Voice Alabama:Christmas In Dixie Mark Wills:Don’t Laugh At Me ( important message at the end ) Lee Greenwood & US Airforce Band:God Bless The USA Any many many more. They have 3 amazing songwriters in the group Tim,Austin and Chance so they have a very large playlist of covers and original songs End of the Road (Boyz 2 Men cover ) When A Loves A Woman Helplessly Hoping (5 part harmony masterpiece ) Unchained Melody Butts Medley/ Remix Listen To The Music Can’t Outrun You Brothers In Arms Stargazer Trilogy( All Originals written by Austin) Give Me A Sign ( Chapter 1) Stargazer Lilies( Chapter 2) MR ( mister) (Chapter 3) Skull And Bones ( original written by Chance for Ubisoft new video game Skull And Bones) Might As Well Be Me ( Original) Playing With Fire ( Original) Remember My Name (Original) Oh Pretty Woman Life Is A Highway Stand By Me Cruise I Want Crazy Colder Weather Ring Of Fire ( 2024 version) Jump Right In Any Way The Wind Blows I’ve Seen Mayday(DON’T WATCH TILL YOU ARE VERY FAMILIAR WITH THE GROUP AND THEIR RANGES ) There's not a song that you pick from their 200+ catalog that is bad I haven't found one yet. They are just funny, down to earth, humble nice guys.They are the best A Cappella group there is IMO Sorry for the long read 🏠🍟

Great reaction! Boy, you can do a harmonica! Adam (beatboxer) is incredible. Chance (back left) was doing the jaw harp. Love Tim’s lows (bass). He has a 5 octave range. Rob (glasses) trained as an opera singer in college. Austin (lead here) is the star of this song and his Georgia accent comes through. They’re all tremendous talents. You should check out Two Country Singers Try Opera with Rob and Austin. Rob wouldn’t do it without Austin. Lots of fun. Some other great songs by them How Great Thou Art, One Man Band, Bless the Broken Road, Blue Ain’t Your Color (more jazzy with Rob lead). Enjoy! They also have a lot of originals with Austin, Tim and Chance writing. 😍😄

A long time ago this was my first Home Free song and video. At the time it was even the first reaction video I ever saw. Their level of excellence makes fandom a very easy sell. And also, just to applaud passion or enthusiasm in any reaction. As occasionally I will come across someone who “reacts” to a song by barely moving their head with no facial expression. After it’s over they might say, That was pretty good. So what you do is so much better, since you don’t hold back being moved by what you hear.

Totally Epic!!!. It is just plain fun to review and realize their gifts and talents are over the top extraordinary. This group can simply stand tall amongst the industry vocalist peers (groups and gifted vocalists). They bring about an excitement intrigue wondering what they will produce for us today, near future and the years to come. They are not bound by a particular genre and whatever they produce you know it is going to be quality. Home Free produces at a high level of integrity and always amazing the interpretation both vocally and visually with their video presentation. Every individual in their vocal group is significant top-notch performer and each draws out the very best in each other. I always look with anticipation to their next release. Great analysis! This song blew me away when I first heard it & I was completely hooked. These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there (5 octave range) & their beatboxer vocal percussionist Adam Rupp can simulate any sound such as drums, harmonica etc. They are my favorite a cappella group. This song is very old (about 100 yrs.) & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.

IMHO Home Free is the best acapella band (for that matter, of any genre). 3 of them are song writers so there are lots of originals as well, Incidentally, they can all beatbox (not to Adam Rupp's extent of course). For instance on "Mayday Live" and another old live video "Joy to the World Hosannah". I guarantee you've never seen a version like this before.

Good to see you checking out Home Free after your work with Voice Play. They met and were both part of The Sing-off on NBC about 10 years ago. Home Free won that season. Voiceplay developed further following that to where they are now. Geoff Castalucci credits Tim Faust, the bass here with Home Free with him developing his bass range further and learning how to use subharmonics. Geoff occasionally has done arrangements for Home Free, including their collaboration with The Oak Ridge Boys on Elvira. (Hint! :) ) You've mentioned in some of your other analyses the power of unison singing when it's done with excellence. Home Free's cover of Helplessly Hoping, is an amazing example of it with killer harmonies too. Enjoy your enthusiasm and expertise. Thanks for the time and effort you put into these.

So ignore the cranky comments. Some folks just have bees in their bustles.)

So sorry about the financial thing. I got my degree in theater, so I know what you mean. There comes a point where you have to decide whether you really want to wait tables for the rest of your life, because that’s virtually the only side job that lets you keep your schedule flexible for auditions and rehearsals. I sucked at waiting tables. LOL. Ended up doing the 9-5 grind and giving up on that spotlight. Turns out I like the work behind the scenes better anyway, esp writing, but that doesn’t pay any better. Good luck finding your niche. Peter Barber has done quite well with KZbin, so it’s possible.
