That's the same reason why Hollow Knight (non roblox game) gets a lot of love is because of the themes that perfectly match the area. Take Greenpath for example, it's soundtrack sounds full of nature, but kind of dulled down due to the fact that it's directly tied to a drab, stone-like area. Now take queens gardens, an area directly tied to nature biomes, with queens gardens being completely full of nature, and the soundtrack sounds a lot like greenpath, except with the full extent of the sound of nature. 9 times out of 10 hollow knight fans will say the game is good because of the music, which is a lot more to the reason why I like both games

To sleep Dreaming (the main menu song) has many versions of it because. In deepwoken every few level up, this song will change and the one with the bells sound is a gimmick to one of the obtainable sources of power in deepwoken which is called “Resonances”.

Honestly, a good chunk of Deepwoken's music doesn't work without context. But if you get in-game and hear it for yourself, boy does it FIT. I think that's what makes deepwoken's OST so special to me. Less that it sounds good, and more that it just fits so perfectly. For example: Oscillation. On the surface it seems like a pretty boring song, but when you hear it in the depths it perfectly captures that feeling of mystery, of the unknown, and it's strange allure.

My issue with the permadeath is it just encourages you to do the whole thing again; I wish there was a way to shortcut the entire stat investing process. For example after death you can write down the order your stats are put in your next life. Then using the training manual automatically consumes all avaible exp towards that stat. Idk

the use of the bells in a bunch of these songs is (in my theory) about the bells / resonances in game which most of the players know about already lol basically you meet a certain requirement and then you can unlock a resonance which is a special ability and upon unlocking one you hear bells ring aswell as you get a bell on your character around the waist

Bells have a strong significance in this game, from the resonance bells, to the hell mode bells, to the bells that ring during your ascension after beating the depths trial, to the corrupted bells, and even the bells you ring to open the trial gates. Not sure what the meaning of all of it is though.

Gideshu March is for the polar opposite of pirates. It's the war chant for the army of the Authority, the faction that opposes the main one in the game, Etrea. The Authority is (i think) canonically the most powerful faction as it holds a massive amount of land.

We roughly know their army's strength, which outclasses Etrea to the point of them kidnapping a Lightkeeper, crippling inter-luminant travel, just to *stalemate* the war. The Hundred Legions also seem to be around the Authority's military level, and there's a *hundred* of them. Plus, they fund the Divers, hire out the Ignition Union and trade with the Summer Company, giving their economic power a decent backing. The chances that the Central Authority has people as strong as the Regent King of Etrea is likely.

Idk if it was said already but when you get to know the lore of the game, every ost get a new sense, you feel them more and you really understand that they stick to what they are meant to display ( like the bell in the 4th main menu theme that means nothing to you but a lot of things in the lore and is used in a lot of ost ). Also the visuals on every ost really represents the atmosphere and the vibe of the place/moment the ost is used in the game

Came back to this video a third time to say that 2 themes will be coming within this month, first one this week actually (well anticipated ones at that) so after those come out I'd be the great if you came back to react to the remaining Deepwoken OSTs. Also heard Nakti's aiming for inspiration from Ultrakill for one of the tracks, which is gonna be Chaser's theme (layer 2 antagonist battle theme). His main inspo for the track is Chris Christodoulou, Keygen Church and Blind Guardian. Honestly I'm hyped considering Keygen Church is one my fav Ultrakill OST composers! not gonna lie, games ost is so well done, that if you were to play the game, youd understand why every ost would sound that way. dukes theme at around an hour and 34, has a boss related to it. the boss is just so important to the story imo and honestly deserves that specific ost just because the fight is so intense. let slip the hounds of war at around the end there is just perfect when you hear it in game. its supposed to play when two armies are fighting eachother, while the music clashes to form somewhat of a battle field. youll notice the gideshu march and isle of vigils theme in there signifying Etrea and The Authority clashing in game while even the song clashes too. it might sound off at the end but it is meant to loop. the games ost is just so masterfully made that it captures the same leitmof in every song. I mean EVERY song. next, the killing wind. the song PERFECTLY, and i mean PERFECTLY captures the feeling of an unknown area that you risk death of being in. im not kidding the area is terrifying as its meant to be a dungeon, but with horrifying enemies that have never been seen before. If you play the game and experience all of thes soundtracks, i think youll like it alot better than just listening to it. my personal favorites are oscillation, killing wind, sin smelted scoriae, dance dance if you can, let slip the hounds of war, greathive aratels combat theme, and last of all a waltz of knights and snow. i hope atleast someone sees this, because it kind of goes in depth about the soundtracks. edit: forgotto mention some things, but what makes all of the depths soundtracks horrifying though it might seem dull on the outside is that, you risk of wiping your character. the game is PERMADEATH. if you die in the depths you lose everything. the depths gives your characterinsanity, and if you have enough it WILL kill you. not to mention exploration of creepy areas such as voidzones are horrifying. wiping may not seem like anything but the thing is, you work so hard just to die and lose it all? yeah no from me. you just get such an adrenaline rush while you run from the very thing that is trying to kill you. games ost sounds dull and confusing outside but in game fits perfectly and horrifying

yeah, also voidwalkers, it just promotes PVP waay to much which ruins the balance of the game, voidwalkers are also the reason I can't even listen to the game's music while playing, because I constantly need to be able to hear the sound of a voidwalker tping so I can log in time. Maybe instead of players being voidwalkers, you could have NPCs that are kinda rare and reasonably difficult to kill (so kinda like at the instructor's level but with mantras and more health) and they'd only hunt you if you had bad reputation with the knives of eylis. That would probably be the best way to do it, I don't think removing them completely would really make sense.

You hear bells a lot in the sound track because bells are an integral part of the game and lore, so basically bells are these powers you can gain by doing certain tasks like killing monsters, fighting other players, and fighting certain bosses, and then once you have the requirements to actually get it you have to get knocked out in the depths, and you will get instantly revived. Now I'll explain what the depths are so the depths are a place deep under the water of the over world, there are a total of 7 known layers of the depths, the next update for deepwoken (It's called verse 2) is adding the second layer to the depths, so if you fall into the void which would normally kill you, you are transported to the next layer. The depths is a place that has a visible effect on your sanity that's why the music is so eerie, creepy, and erratic. You can't stay in the depths to long or you will eventually just die by your head exploding (This is what happens when you run out of sanity) sanity can be increased by using prayer beads, and the effects of insanity are reversed when you are near a campfire, or graceful flame (something that flame charm uses can use in the depths, they can basically stay down there until they run out of food) There are 5 main regular powers in deepwoken (Not to be confused will bells as they are completely different things) these powers are elemental based, you start our with 4 of these powers instantly unlocked which are: •Flamecharm •Thundercall •Galebreath •Frostdraw And the 5th power is called shadow cast, which is unlocked in the depths.

Also a bit of player speculation, there's a pretty popular theory that the further down in the depths you go, the more complex of an instrument your bell will become, and it makes quite a bit of sense, bells are clearly linked to the depths as you can't unlock them in the overworld even after completing your tasks, and "Going deeper in the depths" could represent the music getting more and more complex. But it'd still just a theory, we'll have to wait and find out.
