Your side-mouth quirk / dominant side commentary was very interesting! And I learned a lot, also coming from your previous videos, about your emphasis on support! I'm someone who casually appreciates music and singing and is not really trained and not an expert on the technical aspects of such, so these videos made me better understand and "hear" the differences between breathy vs supported singing, especially at the start. Made me realize that all this time my preference has always leaned on singers who sing with more support but just didn't have a term for it 😅 just deemed they sounded more...stable. 👍

When you were talking about the rockers of the ‘70s and you , at first, were grouping Bowie with the rest of them I was getting upset, and then, just with a movement of your hand, my world was at peace again. It seems I value your opinion a lot. Good job as always, Angel.

Angel Opera , you make me think a lot, thanks. Music, as other arts, I believe, are wired in the human brain somehow, so we are all atunned to them by being human. Ok. But when you take one of this arts and made its language yours… I am a big Bowie fan, but your friend (and yourself) speak the language and are gifted at it… we probably don’t mean the same when we agree that Bowie is god or when we say we are big fans. Oh, this gives me a lot to think about… Again, thanks a lot for your channel.

That's why I like live music, this singer sings a tone well below the music.About four toms down, and the falsetto that he makes recorded music is very different, and this way of singing with his mouth on the side, greatly limits his voice. kisses from Brazil 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷

I'm not a specialist, might hear it entirely wrong but it seems to me that falsetto is the least trained feature of his voice. I don't say it's bad but it seems he's not entirely comfortable to use it at least. But he's got a good range beside the falsetto and uses it very beautifully so I'm not complaining xD He's one of the rare artists who don't make me feel like I have a cold when I listen to them in high register xD Also, we haven't heard anything new from him almost the whole year, he might have perfected it by this time :)

See, I've never finished a video of your without having learned something. For Harry Styles in particular, I've loved his music for a while but always thought he's consistently off pitch (in this performance as well). Guess he wasn't :D
@AngelAzzarraOpera4 жыл бұрын
Well, the lack of support and rib cage breathing are what’s causing the pitch problems (they’re there lmao) but I try to look at these analysis like I would a lesson w a student: I’m not gonna be like “hey 15 yr old girl you’re FLAT” bc then I’ve got a crying teenager for the rest of the hour 😂 I’m gonna say “hey please support lower and feel your lower abs release out and down!” At least most of the time I try to teach for cause and not effect 😅

It is what it is. His support did get better as he went on and the band got louder. The falsetto section sounded mechanical to me as a whole. The line "gotta get away" is one of those catch all phrases for song lyrics, but I suppose a new generation has to realize that they to need to "get away" from something. N.B. Bass-Baritone George London comes to mind a famous "side mouth" opera singer.
@AngelAzzarraOpera4 жыл бұрын
Lmao at the “gotta get away” point you made. Yep. I wasn’t expect this song to be so wildly repetitive. I appreciate he’s going for these 70’s androgynous rocker vibes, but I hope he can get some depth and more personal creativity and IP from striving to exist in this genre
@AnnaLujza824 жыл бұрын
@@AngelAzzarraOpera Please consider, this performance was more than 3 years ago, and he wrote the song almost 4 years ago! He grew a lot since then as a person and as a performer, aand as songwriter as well. His lyrics are deeper, his 2nd album is full of great quality music. Harry does have depth. Check out some of his newer songs like Cherry, Falling or Golden. Or listen to his Sledgehammer cover. Maybe these songs will convince you as well that he has personal creativity. Loads of.
@stelmaria31474 жыл бұрын
Angel Opera and I wasn’t expecting you to be so wildly condescending in the comments, but here we are 🤷🏻♀️. If you want to appeal to the people who are going to watch a Harry Styles reaction video, you may want to avoid patronizing him and, by extension, his fans.
@John_Malloy4 жыл бұрын
@@stelmaria3147 I appreciate her honesty in making critical but certainly constructive remarks in her vids and comments. I think we all understand the business model of these vids but don't you find it strange that there is never a "negative" reaction. As a fan, would it not be more satisfying to you to have an honest reaction given to a performance as this would actually mean something?! The automatic positive cheerleading that you seem to expect in these vids, THAT is what would properly be called "patronizing."
@stelmaria31474 жыл бұрын
John M. I absolutely appreciate honesty. I thought her video was good. If you’ll note in my previous comment my specific objection is to her condescension within the comment section-it was absent in the video, which to me makes the video feel disingenuous, since there’s a disconnect between her tone in the video and her tone in response to comments. I also appreciate the delicious irony of you explaining “patronizing” to me with the most patronizing tone possible-I’m not sure if that was intentional or not, but well done 👍🏼.

I mean it's ok if you don't like him but manufactured? Average? It's quite the opposite. Name another pop artist under 30 bringing the 70s back doing music with real instruments (the instrumentation and production in his 2nd album is insane), great lyrics and amazing vocals. He's anything but average I think. Give it a go, you'll see.

You should definitely check out both of his albums, because I guess you haven’t. And I wouldn’t say his manufactured at all. You should probably watch some more videos of him, interviews, compilations etc. before you say something like that. Not everyone have to like him, but he’s a really good person and not just a bland pop star.

In my opinion he has amazing music listen to his albums and im sure you will change your opinion. He is a great performer with great stage presence. Every performer has weak moments Lets be honest. His first album is more rock style and the second one more pop but still kinda vintage. He is really talented and the popularity is bc he is an amazing person and bc of his beliefs. I would love to hear your opinion after you listen to his work. ☺️
