My Owensville Terminal Micro Layout is now completed, so it's time to operate it. In this video, I show how the layout runs. A local brings an inbound car for the feed mill, and will pick up one outbound empty car. A very simple scheme that adds purpose to this micro layout*.
I use a single-track sector plate instead of a turnout to access the layout tracks. This sector plate is manually operated, and it's considered a staging device located "offstage" of the visible portion of the layout. It is NOT intended to represent a turntable. It is a space-saving staging device used in place of a turnout.
*“Micro layouts are small model railroads, usually less than three or four square feet in area, that nonetheless have a clear purpose and excellent operating capability.”
