Operation Advance is 24 hours of dynamic, highly visible policing activity. Today (20 August) it’s returning to Birmingham supported by staff and officers from departments both locally and across the force.
This is all part of our commitment to work even more closely with our communities and tackle the issues that matter most to local people.
Our planned activity includes executing warrants, making arrests, doing road safety operations and addressing anti-social behaviour issues. This will all be taking place alongside our ‘business as usual’ responding to calls and requests for support.
We’ve drafted in extra resources from throughout the force, who would normally be shared out across the West Midlands. They’ll be joining our local officers, including investigators, neighbourhood teams and partnerships, to make the biggest impact possible.
We also have a whole range of partners working with us throughout the day.
We will all be working together to target those people who are committing crime and causing harm whether that’s within our neighbourhoods, on the roads or in the business community.
Make sure to keep an eye on our social media channels using #OpAdvance because we’ll be posting live updates, letting you know exactly what our officers are up to and sharing activity with you.
