🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️ I didn’t realize the camera was on when I was talking. Well it is a great quick overview! How wonderful that we worked together! That was a good filler day. I’ve been so saddened by the actual lack of it. It’s so hard to fill an empty box at times. I hope we get to do this together again sometime!!!💕💕

No worries, Denise!! lol It was just a one-shot video. It was going to record everything. lol It was good filler that day, but it could have been better. But we were able to pack full all the boxes we processed so I'm happy with that! I know, I'm sad to hear the lack of filler on other days. I would love to volunteer again with you! We both want the shoeboxes we process full! It was awesome to have an impromtu lunch and short volunteer session with you! Have a great Christmas!

I think my favorite videos now are these at the PC! Thank you so much for sharing! And how fun that you and Denise get to process together- woohoo!

Yes, Morgan! Totally agree with you! Loving all these processing center videos! Previous PC videos are dated and not really giving the entire process. While my videos are short, I'm happy there are others being posted. It was super fun processing with a fellow OCC KZbinr!

Thanks Rosy! I wish it was a longer video so I can feature Denise more but it was literally the end of the shift, so I had to do it real quick. Oh, I hope you got a chance to volunteer this year! If note this year, but next year! Thanks again. And Merry Christmas!!

Yay for another chance to volunteer. 🙂 So nice to see you, your brother, and Denise working together. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Diana! Yes, like I mentioned in my video, I thought I only took the morning off for the dentist appointment but realized it was for the full day. And my brother was also off. I checked the night before if they had any volunteer openings and they did! Before it was completely booked. Turned out Denise was also volunteering. She was at another table for most of our shift until the last hour of closing time, when most people left, and she came over to our table to work with us. Pretty cool! Thanks again, friend!! Merry Christmas!!

Aw, it's nice to see the two of you together doing this. Never really realized how needful the filler items are until I started watching all of you, haha.

Thanks Nicole! Yes, it was such a nice surprise to learn Denise had the same shift! Well, last year, my only shift had fantastic filler but it was the last day of processing. But I honestly think there are a lot more boxes than last year. So filler is much needed! Thanks again. Merry Christmas!

So good to see you two working together at the processing center 👏. It’s amazing how much filler needs to be added to one box 😧

Thanks Trish! I was super happy I got to volunteer with Denise! Unfortunately, a lot of boxes had to be filled in. I really hope there's more education that shoeboxes has to be filled. Merry Christmas, Trish!

The “Dynamic Duo” at work! What a TEAM! So excited you both connected and got to work together. Great tour, Sharon! OMG….you had some great fillers there! And yes, I had the same experience with lots of inappropriate items including used/damaged toys, dirty water bottle, glassware, toothpaste, lotions and candies. Thank you for this video. A good facilitating and learning tool! Merry Christmas! 🎁🎄 🎁

Thanks friend! I thought Trish and I made a great team! We knew the do not pack list by heart so processing shoeboxes was super easy. I thought YOUR PC had great filler as well! Definitely lots of inappropriate items that had to be taken out. This was just a quick video of the process from a volunteer point of view. Merry Christmas, Sonia!! Hope you had a great time at the PC as well!

So cool to see you and Denise at the Processing Center together! It’s like a reality show reunion, lol. Can’t believe, basically, the same inappropriate items and the pretty empty shoeboxes. I don’t get it. At least you had good fillers for that shoebox.
@eastcoaststories3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Maritza! I thought it was pretty cool and random that we had the same shift! She was at another table for most part of the shift but near end of the day, most people left so she came over to my table. Right, I don't understand why, especially toothpaste is still being packed. Yup, unfortunately, I processed several empty shoeboxes. I really hope there's more education. I still wish there's great filler everyday. But I was satisfied with every shoeboxes I processed after I filled them up! Thanks Maritza! Merry Christmas!

Hi! I love your videos, you have such a calming voice and presence! Do you know what the center does with all of those inappropriate items? Are they donated maybe to shelters?
@eastcoaststories3 жыл бұрын
Oh, thank you Alicia! I'm so happy to hear that. I always critical of myself when I watch myself. lol I guess we all do. But I'm still working on my video presence. Oh yes, the processing center donates the inappropriate items to local ministries, women's shelters, homeless shelters and even local toy drives (items like military toys can't go in shoeboxes). So nothing is thrown away unless they are broken of course. In the PC, you can actually see them box the inappropriate items up for the organizations to give away. Thanks for watching!

What do you do with all the “inappropriate items”? Are they donated or disposed of or what?
@eastcoaststories3 жыл бұрын
They are donated! Not thrown away. They are packaged and sent to local ministries, women's groups, and local food banks.

Can't believe how much filler you have to add
@eastcoaststories3 жыл бұрын
Me too. Last year, I processed really nice boxes. This year has been really eye-opening the amount of half-empty shoeboxes that comes in and it's a lot. There is filler but at times - it may be inappropriate to pack because of age or gender. But luckily, on this day I was satisfied with the boxes I processed because I made sure they were all full.
