General MacArthur in the film is probably the hero of the heroes. I haven't seen the movie and I won't. I can roughly guess how the Hollywood army will defeat everyone there. In reality, General MacArthur drove his troops into a trap set by the Chinese. The result is the almost defeat of the 8th American Army, the destruction of 70% of the Turkish brigade, the regiment of the 7th US Infantry Division was completely destroyed, the division itself was defeated. Therefore, on September 11, 1951, General MacArthur was removed from his post of commander and dismissed for false reports to President Truman, for trying to drag the United States and the West into a nuclear war with the USSR and China. By the way, not only US troops took part in the war against North Korea. Tbh, its only the aftermath that shows how much of a tragic loss of lifes this was, how much basic human rights and dignity that was just tossed to the side. - cus lets be real here, a united country is afterall the ideal, no?? Sad to see how NK just ignored the value of human lifes and their freedom to choose. I woulda been ok with either side winning if it wasnt for this surreal disregard for human rights etc..
