operation flash point is a very good game indeed, played long ago. it is more like military simulation. nothing fancy like COD, but realistic.

​@thevirtualcommute red river is okay. I would say an update middle eastern version of this game. I play dragon rising on steam deck and get 4 hours of gaming out of it at least lol but red rivier is usually buggy in my opinion. But dr is my fav 😊

That’s a modern review of it though. When it came out? It was graphically ahead of the curve. Still one of the only games where bullet drop over distance is a thing.

@@thevirtualcommute While Red River improved many of the aspects, it significantly dumbed down the enemy AI and increased their numbers, which really goes against the Operation Flashpoint roots. At least in Dragon Rising, the enemy AI used bounding movement and suppression. While Dragon Rising was overall a disappointment, mainly due to it missing many of the promised features and in some aspects being a step back from the original Operation Flashpoint, it still was a proper tactical shooter.

There is a patch/fix to allow you to play on your native resolution, looks great in 1440p!

I had the ps3 version and enjoyed it. I'm replaying it on the steam deck now using rpcs3 and I still like it! Not too many games like this on the old consoles.

No they are not. I remember the day they shut them off. We where all forced on to Red River, which in my opinion just didnt have the same feel.

I really enjoyed this game when I came out, I disagree with most of this review. Did the reviewer forget when this was released?

I just played the first mission. One of the things reviews don't point out, that there's a lot of running. And unlike "modern shooters" the action is NOT in your face which is implied that this is a military sim shooter. I thought it might be a fun game to play as a coop with friends but I realized how much not fun it would be with friends and there are better options out there. There are comments saying this is a fun game, and I'm sure it is for them. But if you've come back from playing COD or a boomer shooter, you are going to have to slow down for this game.

Hidden & Dangerous 2 is better than this shaite. And games like Arma 2 and 3 made it completely irrevelant.

For singleplayer, the Dragon Rising campaign is better than either Armas. The mission scripting never broke once and the enemy AI is capable of more than standing in the opening or lying in the open.

I had this on 360 as a kid and I loved it. Replaying it as a grown man, I came to realize that... it's awful. Bad AI, shitty visuals, clunky menus and movement, dumpy ass inaccurate weapons, it's just all so bad. Stick to Brothers In Arms or SOCOM for your tactical shooters. This ain't it.
