Good exposure for our troops to conditions they’re not normally used to as well. So looks like we got something out of it too. Nice job.

Looks like we need tod develop some proper cold weather layers... Non water repelling pants in such an environment is a sure way to increase the risk of cold exposure injuries.

Our army, however, has better doctrinal knowledge than that of many other countries.

OK I'll bite. Define "Modern Combat"? Iraq? Afghanistan? Or is there some other Modern Combat conflict going on in the world that you consider the gold standard for combat?
@minirambler4042 Жыл бұрын
@@cavman7 Iraq and Afghanistan were counterinsurgency operations, to be fair. They weren’t conventional conflicts like the one Ukraine is facing.
@cavman7 Жыл бұрын
@@minirambler4042 I agree, but the OP raised the issue of "Modern Combat" I know of no recent such incidents. Conflicts around the globe yes, but country to country, army to army combat in the traditional sense. I don't know of any.

@@cavman7 between major world players? It hasn’t happened any time recent. Azerbaijan and Armenia have fought, a few other countries, too, but in general, yeah.

Undercover ww3 Sad.
@TheMegaAsh Жыл бұрын
Entirely possible that this will become WW3 but I wouldn't use the term "Undercover" because WW1 wasn't referred to as WW1 until some time after WW2. Up to and including the duration of WW2, WW1 was called "The Great War". I don't know dates as to when but I'd say WW1 wasn't recognised as WW1 until WW2 was recognised as WW2 which of course was referred to as "The War in Europe" (or something like that!) and "The Pacific War". If Ukraine is the start of WW3, we won't know until we're already in it and maybe not officially referred to WW3 for several years after it concludes.
