I did the exact same thing to my Integra GSR. It's a heck of a project. I ended up getting the JDM doors to make it easier. Owned it 5 years and sold it. I recently just bought a real deal 96 spec Integra type R and it's on its way from Japan. I really miss driving rhd

Michael flare do you know how to wire ek9 power folding mirrors with relay is already inside switch ?i have a 00 civic em1
@MichaelFlare4 жыл бұрын
@@sandramiguel1231 - Yes! I know exactly how to do it. I'm working on my mirrors in 2 days so I'll let you know exactly how to do it. I have the exact built in facelift mirror switch too. Power folding is perfectly okay but highly discourage you from hooking up the POWER ADJUST. These mirrors are for RHD cars. They are NOT symmetrical. If you look at the car from the front, you can see that the mirrors lean towards the right side of the car. When putting them in LHD, you'll try to max out the adjust by hand all the way left but you'll realize that you can't do anything about it so you leave it there because it's best as possible. No point in power adjust and how often do you adjust mirrors in a car anyways? Almost never after the initial adjust.
@sandramiguel12314 жыл бұрын
Michael flare thank you sir I’ve been looking online for a while but no one has the built in relay.I just want my mirrors to fold I don’t really care about adjusting my mirrors.

Great work! I also did my EK RHD conversion myself. Did it the right way as you did. A lot of people just cut the firewall out and swap them. The right way is removing the spot welds and pull a complete firewall.

Now this is the right way to do it. I'm about to do my conversion I have 2 EK9 front clips one clip is pretty rusted out from the floor board it made its way up slightly into the firewall so I'm going to do it an easier way just cut out the firewall and weld it in place instead of busting all the spot welds off I already busted all the spot welds off on my other clip everything came out 100% perfect but I'll safe that for a different EK. Good shit man how's the paint holding up on the arm rest and dash? I remember I spray painted my interior years ago and I remember it began chipping off about a year later I want to spray paint it again but I'm not sure if there is a better option or better paint out there

I only had these parts in my car for like 5 months because it was only a temporary thing. I had all parts replaced with all black panels. The parts does get scuffed up white easily and can be rubbed away with water. It's kind of like scratching your skin with your fingernail; the skin scuffs up white but when you wipe with water it goes away.

@dogfight3964 жыл бұрын
How is the spray painted red inserts of the door panels holding up? I did something similar, changed the vinyl on the inserts, but they don't look like the real deal. The CTR manual door panels are impossible to find.
@MichaelFlare4 жыл бұрын
DogFight - I don’t have that door panel anymore because all the stuff you saw me spray paint was only temporary until the real EK9 parts came in. (Door sills, door handles, E-Brake handle, E-Brake cover, door panels, etc). It’s all real EK9 black panels now. I bought an automatic EK9 door panel and replaced the insert with a manual insert from the junkyard and wrapped the insert in Jersey pineapple red fabric. It looks absolutely amazing.

Hey there Michael, I'm trying to build an ek9 RHD and I wanted help. Would you recommend the RHD build or is it more of a show room thing due to the danger of cutting into the cars frame. Also where did you get most of the parts, and what would you recommend buying? If possible is there any way i could contact you 1 on 1 like insta or discord? I would appreciate it a ton and it would help me on my build in general, since I am slowly losing hope in my build, but this video gave me a ton of inspiration to keep going and just build my dream car, thank you a ton man, and keep doing what you are doing!
@MichaelFlare4 жыл бұрын
I've been racing my car since 2014 both circuit racing and autocross racing. I just did my first circuit race with RHD recently. You can watch the video on my channel (3 weeks ago). I tried to weld as much as I could when putting everything back together. Some spots I even welded as many seams possible when OEM there wasn't any just to be sure. I won first place in my group with this car at a track that i have NEVER been to in my life while other's already have. I know I'm not a pro but I feel like the car is very sturdy to my knowledge. I raced it as hard as I could too and felt confident and the body felt strong and rigid. I don't suggest you take my word for it though because I'm not a professional or expert. I'm just a backyard mechanic and do motorsports race since 2008. I'm probably one of the only KZbinrs that don't have instagram but I don't care about popularity like that at all. I built this channel mainly to help people work on cars. I hate discord LOL, my friends always ask me to join when we play games. My name is Michael Flare and you can message me on facebook. I'm very active on there so I'll help you for sure when you need it. Here's the answer to your other question: eBay is the best place to find parts and here is why. eBay is probably the biggest and most diverse market in the world. eBay sells all kinds of stuff from private sellers to business sellers. They sell both FAKE and REAL parts. Here are some tips to distinguish the two when you buy parts from eBay. Either way, you can buy fake or real, it is up to your preference. 1. Observe the seller ratings and feedbacks 2. Do research on the internet about parts you want to buy. 3. FAKE parts are BRAND NEW AND LOW PRICE for Civic EKs, most of the time. 4. REAL parts are USED AND HIGH PRICE for Civic EKs, most of the time. 5. Read item description very carefully before you buy. Good luck on your project. God save the 9, forever.

Did you film a tutorial for this. I don’t blame you if you didn’t. This was a really difficult project. Like better than most professional mechanics can’t do this. Ever think of the 99 front end
@MichaelFlare4 жыл бұрын
I did not do a tutorial video. I'm sorry. I have thought about the facelift front end many times through the past 10 years but I always chose to stick with this one mainly because it's very special knowing that only Japan had this front end; it's literally the original first version of CTR that even modern video games are starting to use this front end over the facelift.
