They don't take rape seriously if the allegations are made against celebrities or politicians. I hope they take it seriously from now on.

It isn’t taken seriously in general. Wasn’t long ago when the government had to publicly apologise to rape victims

Im sorry that this horrific assault happened. Im so pleased that the lady got justice and the man is in prison now! Refreshing to see some good police for once! Unfortunately, when i reported sexual assault, the female detective said, "If Men harass you when you go out, dont go out stay at Home" the Police victim blame and take the side of the perpetrators. I begged the Police to obtain the CCTV footage, but she refused. She said its his word against yours! Absolutely No lines of enquiries were followed, no witness statements were taken and case was simply closed down without investigations.

We also need to allow victims to have privacy in recovery. If I had to turn over therapy notes to a perpetrator… let alone give police access to all my devices…(and they have a well documented history of abusing that access)… I don’t know if I could face those intrusions…

I'm pleased they caught asshole and more so the woman is being supported in her endeavour to rebuild herself. ONE question though; Where the F was the was the Boyfriend?! Did he get knocked out or runaway???
@Truthology-wc9mz7 ай бұрын
That’s what I was thinking. Did she run off and the boyfriend get beat up? Or did the boyfriend run away? If the boyfriend ran off that would be fair if she ran off and left him to deal with the attacker alone.

You can’t address the issue without addressing the number of police who are perpetrating these crimes.

It’s not just about communication, it’s about being believed. Victims of this crime have been treated horrifically in this country for a long time. Wasn’t long ago the government had to send out a public apology regarding this
@mokhan81467 ай бұрын
Why should they be believed without any evidence ? Ok if there is evidence
@onlineonlineaccount23687 ай бұрын
@chloefrancesca_ But communication and being ''believed'' go hand in hand. There have been many women who ''claim'' they have been raped and sexually abused and later after all the research their claims where incorrect and they where basically lying. In the US in past many American women claimed they where ''raped'' by American men of color for example during the 1950s 60s and even 70s. I can assure 99.9% where lying and creating false stories....the remification of all of this is that sadly many men where brutally killed, murderd, lynched under a three and burned alive by a large mob of Wh1te American men and some women aswell. This all played into the false propaganda that American men of colour where ''rape monsters'' hunting wh1te american women. Wel in reality it was wh1te american men raping women left and right. So ''believing and communication'' are all part of the same coin.

@@mokhan8146 The fact the government had to issue a public apology means victims haven’t been believed even with evidence. It was acknowledged by the government that victims have been treated poorly and haven’t been protected by those who have the duty to do so. The whole attitude around this crime and the way police handle it is poor
