I started the process of my new van build, by unbuilding!!! lol
Removing my old build, to make way for the new.
SO EXCITING!!!
My friend Bob is coming over tomorrow to discuss insulation and what he recommends.
He's been in the heating/cooling industry for decades.
He knows his stuff.
He's a smart fella!!!
Be well,
Lulu

Hello from England! I don't remember how I came by your channel, but I did. And I just love you! I love the way you talk, your attitude, your van. I don't even drive but seeing you live your life in such a cool, relaxed way, is so refreshing and very inspiring. I am almost ready to pluck up the nerves to get driving lessons at the age of 47 because I want the life you have. I have also changed my diet in the last couple of years. Aiming to eat all natural, hardly any meat and cooked from scratch. Keep doing what you're doing and you now have a new subscriber. Best wishes and looking forward to what's coming up in the future for you x

You’re quite a handy lady and you show us that we can do it. As for lighting, I actually think that it’s best to have different ones for different purposes: solar luci light for power shortage, light with flexible long neck to point different directions, another bug light to kill more bugs and give more light, and motion sensor light. Just a thought

Lulu, love seeing how much you appreciate your workshop and your love for tools. Never met a woman before who enjoys tools as much as I do. And the satisfaction that comes from self accomplishment knowing you did it yourself. I've always felt that if something can be done I could do it, just need the right leverage or tool. And a little research to learn what I need to do. I taught myself electrical wiring, plumbing, carpentry, whatever I needed to do to accomplish it myself. As a city girl from Los Angeles I acquired a mini farm, raised the animals I needed, learned to butcher, had my garden, milked a cow and goats for 14 years, learned make cheese, candles, olives; if it appealed I tried it. So as you proudly say here, "I did it MY way". O ne thing you've done which I truly envy is you think "outside the box" and you're so innovative and apparently love going "over the lines" which I personally find difficult. So I laugh along with you and deeply understand your joy and appreciate YOUR WAY❣️🤗🥳 Cheers, soul sister!!!

You learn when you have a need. My husband was an anxious recluse and refused to hire repairMEN. So if I wanted something fixed on our home I taught myself and found your joy in the self-satisfaction of success. If you have a need I've no doubt you'll do it. Of course, I didn't have any YT videos to show me or google to find answers. Problem now is I'm 20 years older than you and not as flexible so don't build anymore so search my stuff to repurpose. Love the underfloor storage your minivan has. And now your improvised cooler well❣️ Looking forward to knowing you better and thank you for your insightful sharing my friend. Aren't "soul sisters " terrific🤗👍🐣💕

Next time cook the potatoes whole. I’m just learning too but I found that worked better. I got the 6.5 quart instant pot duo crisp, ultimate lid it has 13 in 1 functions really really like it a lot. Comes with an air fryer also.
@LulusWay64

hi Stella!! cooking the potatoes whole would do the trick, but it takes longer to cook them that way. at home it's no big deal but on the road, the less cooking time, the less my battery bank drains. I wonder if when I take them out of the pressure cooker, when they are still white, I should just put them in a container and cover them. I tend to leave it open so they can cool down. I'm just learning too!!!! Lulu

@@LulusWay64 I put six potatoes in my instant pot yesterday for 12 minutes all small to medium potatoes. 10 minutes natural release and they came out cooked. I don’t know if that’s too long for you, but give that a go if it works if not then I guess you would have to chop them up, good luck. I hope it works.

LED 100% useful for lights. You can also get strips that have different colours, set at different temps, or brightness etc which you can use on a remote control. LED strips are good because they dont use much power (just like your little fairy lights there)

I love the workspace! When I'm going to use any tools, I make sure I have a box of quart size baggies with me, and a permanent marker to write on the bag where I took the parts from. Some people even use their phone to take pictures of every thing they un-assemble and re-assemble. Holy smokes! Thought the paint would come off with the mini-crowbar. The lattice was a great idea for the bed.

Hi Lulu! Love seeing you do all this work on your own! 🎶🎶Sisters are doing it for themselves!🎶🎶 Was playing in my head watch you work! I was wondering for your new build if you are having your bed layout the same or would you do it crosswise in the back of the van? Not sure how wide your van is crosswise or if it would support a bed layout like that. I’m excited to see the changes for your van.

PS- we have a small LED light strip that’s about 12 inches long that has 4 levels of brightness and it is rechargeable AND magnetic. It’s in a white hardcover casing and has a push button on one end to turn on and for each level of brightness. We actually use it in our laundry room and stuck it on the metal furnace. Bought it at Home Depot a few years ago for under $15. Works great.

Hi Lulu just watched this video. So inspiring. Wish I had your get up and go. Anyway I just wanted to say ( although you will ultimately do it Lulu’s way). It may be wise to consider insulation for your van. Particularly if you decide to do any camping in or around the Massachusetts vicinity. I’m from Boston and the weather there can be brutal. I’ve moved to California years ago and weather here is becoming more and more unpredictable. Not just here but everywhere. Your first thought will no doubt be your best thought. Good luck 🤞🏽 I’ll be watching and wishing you the best.

I went on my first trip to White Mountains of AZ with my new camper shell. I had already insulated the floor so we could put down the wood and bought indoor out door carpet to put on top. Moved everthing in and hit the road. The temp dropped down to 32F, thought I was going to freeze to death! As soon as I got home I grabbed my grandson and he went to town putting up reflectix and a very thin layer of thermal insulation over it. Now when it's cold its cold but it sure helped a lot. In the summer the difference is amazing. Enjoy your rebuild!

I do have a little reading light that is USB chargeable (it was clipped onto that little "nightstand" that I had stuck to the wall that I got off with the crowbar!!) that works great for reading light. but I need good lighting for cooking and when I really want to see what I'm doing. I'll look into the LED strip, thanks!! Lulu

I am so excited to see your new van build! I have very similar way of prepping/eating as you, but I lack the creativity. I do have an innate ability to model, modify and adapt to something I see to make it uniquely mine. I have purchased the majors: 2 Bluettis, 2 ea 200w solar panels, Berkey, smaller instant pot, DOC fridge/freezer, upgraded cooler, Yeti blue ice blocks, as well as other smaller miscellany. I DO NOT have preferred vehicle yet (only my SUV Buick Enclave.) These items are very useful regardless of how my prospective camping journey ensues. I am going this morning to dealerships looking for a Pro-Master. I will still own my smallish condo for home base. Wishing you the best and I love all your videos; I repeatedly watch them to glean every speck of knowledge you offer.

Tools for everything, as even when i had my log home, gave most away. I, too, love Ryobi tools. Batteries can be used for other Ryobi tools and fans. Jejeje, i say it keeps me flexible using muscles. I never knew i had going back n front. I use a plug-in hanging light fixture with my jackery. It's really bright, and i do have a Mpowerd luci base camp: solar inflatable lantern & phone charger, 360 lumens LEDs, its rechargeable using dolar or usb-c n its waterproof. That was such a wonderful thought out beautifully built you did. Insulation is a game changer, i used Havelock Wool n its difference even cooler in hot Sumner

I’ve seen people use long magnetic LED lights that they love. I have one of the bug zappers like you, but I hang that closer to the front in order to attract bugs away from me. I also have a Lucy light and a knock off. I think all my lights are dilated powdered except a couple small lanterns I got from Harbor Freight. I have more lights than I use. I also have a second bug zapper for my screen tent!

Hi Lulu! Wish we could have met up when you drove through CT. 😊 Maybe on another of your adventures. 👍 Thank you for sharing the breaking down of your temporary van build. Very much looking forward to seeing the whole new build process! With the new build will you use Kill Mat and / or insulation on your floor? They can both really reduce road noise. And, having the floor insulated helps no matter what. Thanks for sharing!! 😊👍

That was fun! Can’t wait to see your new van ideas. I liked your last video as well when you said if you want to be healthy or lose weight, you just have to “GET TO IT”. One just can’t keep wishing it, and life zooms by with no results. 30 down for me, 15 more pounds to go. How different from your maintenance eating portions now, were your losing weight portions? How much weight did you lose? Sorry if you may have already mentioned this and I missed it. Thanks for inspiring. I love your vibrancy.
