Meli ssa the problem with that is that you know damn well they're not going to cast a bunch of Hawaiian or Polynesian actors. it's going to be a bunch of white people that are using sunless tanner or others that are not of that actual culture: it's going to be whitewashed
@mi-moon_6 жыл бұрын

Disney's Moana introduced much of the world to a sea-going culture, even the most seasoned Mariner knew little of. I have seen a little of the Planets oceans. I believe The Sea is an ever-changing, living organism. She is a beautiful, harsh mistress. The Samoan language part of the song stirs my ancient soul, in a way I could no longer keep to myself. Thank you for sharing a stunning bit of your world, Mr. Foa'i. I hope the Disney people paid you handsomely.

There's a theory that I once read claiming that Moana is an allegory for space exploration - this version of "Tulou Tagaloa" illustrates that idea perfectly because the instrumental has a mysterious, space-like quality to it, the blue lights beaming on the floor are like spaceship beams, and the lights floating past Olivia are like stars floating through space
