The production is also back too! I love this combination of old and new Opeth in terms of mixing too, a polished metal sound but still a real acoustic sound kept in, not too "typewritery" as Mikael would say but not too acoustic vintage sounding like their past 4 albums either. Kind of reminscent of Jens Bogren's work on Watershed's production actually (maybe starting where they left off there in a way? Wonder who mixed this time?). Can't wait to check it out regardless, that and the new Testament, Dream Theater, and As I Lay Dying records among others I'm sure, whenever they come out.
