Apart from damnation from 2003 which was only clean vocals,every album from 2011,heritage all their albums have Mikael singing clean. Live he still sings in both styles.

I wanted you to hear some earlier stuff as most has been slightly later in their career. Again, this album is one to listen to from start to finish. If you like the long intros, the Moor which is the first song. Very long intro. Lol.

Prefer Dream theater to be honest. Never got into Opeth, because of the throated death metal growel and the signature metal/soft/metal. I'm probably totally wrong; I normally are 😅 but they try to be everything to everyone

"but they try to be everything to everyone". dead wrong, buddy. they willingly shed most of their fanbase by dropping the death metal act altogether. they just like a lot of different genres of music. prefering dt to opeth - no comment.

Ye as normal I was wrong the Swedish Rockers later stuff is amazing and I never game them a chance. This is how you find new or old artists you didn't give a chance 🤘👍

I like to think of Opeth, specifically Mikael, the brainchild of the music, to be jungarian in the sense that he incorporates his dark and light sides into his art. It’s a reconciliation of sorts. Even their newer stuff, although no growls or real hard metal vibe, is dense with dark moments and beautiful delicate moments. One thing I will say is, for Mikael, there’s no sellout in him, he plays what he enjoys and what he feels, and if people like it great and if they don’t, we’ll there are other bands more to their liking. I respect that, a lot.
