Some 13 years ago we had this music class where at the start of every session we'd listen to a song brought by one of the students. I went with this and told the teacher that it'd take a while. Her reaction was to dim the whole auditorium and have us sit in darkness listening to this masterpiece the whole way through. She didn't regret it.

One of the earliest songs where Mickael embraces his clean vocals without timidity.

that outro is what really made me a fan of Opeth. This album is when Opeth finally reached their potential. Maybe my favorite album

As an Opeth fan since 1998, the last 3 minutes of When is my absolute favorite of them.

Pretty legendary song for many opeth fans. I've even known a guy who wasn't into prog but loved this one. Can't wait to see what you think. A while back ago you did a couple of soilwork reactions. I suggested you check out Earthside - Crater. It has Soliworks vocalist on it. Anyways the channels grown so much since then and your list of requests is now a mountain! but i try to cherry pick gems i think you'll really like, so i just wanted to remind you to give that one a spin. Doesn't need a reaction video, I've got bigger fish to fry there loll.. have a great week man.

20 years ago, when I was an inconsiderate loud music playing youngin, I was playing this song VERY loud at a red light. It was during the riff at 3:43. As soon as the drums and distortion kicked in at 4:00, the dude next to me (who also had his windows down) floored it. The light was still red though. Apparently it effected him on some weird lizard brain level heh. It was bizarre. Dude almost got T-boned even. I can't imagine how that individual would've reacted if I was playing some brutal death metal lol

I recommend *Heilung,* live. You'll be blown away. Try *Krigsgaldr, In Maidjan* or *Alfadhirhaiti* Keywords: *unique, atmospheric, entrancing, meditating, innovative*

Intense from beginning to end. The album is a story that's well written. As is Still life. Cheers my friend!

I’d love you to do “April Ethereal,” the first song from this album. I venture that it’s even better than this or Demon of the Fall ;]

April Ethereal was the first HEAVY song by Opeth I heard. Back then I couldn't stand growling so at first the song was a real challenge. After a couple of listens I finally gave in and the rest is history. Thanks to the song I learnt to enjoy growls and discovered the whole new world of music. Long story short, Opeth is freakin' outstanding.

@@golgol4903 You could even say it was the first “heavy” Opeth song for listeners to hear, given the transformation from Morningrise and step up in production. Eleven months later, here we are still waiting!
