I love the heat transfer method. I will give it a try in 2024 when I start back making soap.

@opheliassopery do you use this method to All your soap batter/oils even if you use more liquid or hard oils? What can go wrong using this method? Thank you. Love your channel. You were one of the inspirations to create soap.
@OpheliasSoapery Жыл бұрын
Yes I use this method with every batch. Try a small batch it may work amazing for you. I have more liquid oils than hard in my recipe.

How do you keep your soap so fluid?
@OpheliasSoapery Жыл бұрын
I try to not overmix in the beginning and I add my fragrance per color instead of all at once. However sometimes the fragrances behave badly and it will accelerate no matter what 😞

How warm is your lye solution when you mix it in?
@OpheliasSoapery Жыл бұрын
It’s over 200°F.

Hi Ophelia... I am from India and have been following your channel since I started making soaps & skincare products. Can you please share the kind of oils & their quantities that have been used bcoz the lye+water mix still remains watery for long time. In my case that doesn't happen with coconut, palm, olive & castor oil. Once I have used sunflower oil reducing olive oil upto 50%. But it's not smelling good.

do u get alot of soda ash on your soaps when you trace thin as you do? if so what is your best method to rid of it after the soap loaf has has hardened
@OpheliasSoapery Жыл бұрын
No the only time I get soda ash is if I use essential oils. I use a steamer and it seems to work great.

Since fragrance oil is an oil too, why not add it in the beginning with the rest of oils? Does it go bad with the heat?
@OpheliasSoapery Жыл бұрын
No not at all. It doesn’t go bad. I prefer to add my fragrance oil per layer/color to give me more working time just incase it’s a fragrance oil that will thicken up the batter.
