I like to go across my chain with a single crochet, then do my Grannys. When I am done I do one row of sc too. It seems a little more stable and easier to me and a good base to add a border.

I was so happy to see you teach crochet and hold the hook the way I was taught 62 years ago when I was a preteen. I turn the piece the same way, too, but I just learned a new and perfect way to keep the sides straight today. Thank you, Anja.

I have arthritis and I’ve been put off crochet because of the way most people hold the wool - if I held my finger up all the time it would get stuck! So I’m excited to see that you old the wool in a way more like knitting - I’m going to have a go at this and follow the way you hold your wool - maybe at last I will be able to crochet ! 😀

Thank you so much for this video. I've made Granny Squares, Granny Stripe, Granny Blankets, but I've never done one that's a different color each row. I'm not summertime who can be all willy nilly and just go with whatever color I happen to grab, but I'm trying to get past that insanity. I made a retro Granny Square blanket for my sister for Christmas and I tried really hard to be more free with the colors, but I couldn't do it. I'm determined to do it with my new Granny Stripe. My pet peeve has been that almost floppy side you get when you do a chain rather that a foundation chain (which I finally forced myself to learn, I don't like them, but it does make for a much nicer edge when I do it). It should've been simple to figure out that I needed 2 on top instead of one. I'm sure I learned that way and got lazy. But then I watch this video and you fixed my problem. I was watching another of your videos where you said someone said something rude about your channel being like primary school or something to that effect....that's wrong. Your way of song things is a little different, it makes me pay more attention and obviously it taught me something, so ha ha on the rude people. Hugs from Tennessee.
