OPI is going back to its roots. They always had puns and catchy names for their polishes. They started going mainstream recently with things like their neon collection etc. these names are basically them.

Thank you! I was thinking the same thing about these names. OPI usually has such cute names, but these were clunky sounding and seemed forced. I felt the same way about a few of these colors: not very Fall-ish 🤷‍♀🍁And kind of strange to me that they chose so many sheerer polishes for Fall, which I usually associate with creams, metallics, and other more opaque finishes. My favorites were Scorpio Seduction, Big Sagittarius Energy, and I Cancer-tainly Shine. Loved those holo flakies! ~Caroline

I hate this collection 😅 I hate the zodiac theme, the names, the fact that it looks like a holiday collection instead of fall, the sheer shimmers, the brushstrokes . I miss the days when OPI did mostly creams with outstanding formulas inspired by a city or country. It was so much fun to learn about a new destination and its colour palette every season. Like you said, I feel they are trying to become a "younger" brand and I hate it. 2021 was the last good year for OPI imo

Yes, yes, yes and yes. I'd just like to add my pet peeve - OPI and their stupid forced puns have always been my bugbear. I bought the blue one though and it is something new, or at least newER. I think each brand is now putting together huge "collections" which make zero sense so many times a year that we're over-faced. I just cannot get enthusiasm up for 12x4 annually minimum - just the five bigger brands alone that's a couple of hundred a year. It's insane. Wouldn't we all rather just have something new or unique even if only a couple of times a year, together with each brand's base staples? I'm actually wary now cos so often I get the latest new exciting and...oh. It's just X renamed, fabulous. Janixa though, I do love your reviews because they're realistic. A huge beautifully backlit macro is just not how we experience NP. I have to buy online and the amazing OTT marketing puffery usually leads to a small expensive bottle of Disappoint. At £15rrp a whack I want mashed fairy!

I actually love the OPI brush 😅 It’s my favorite. Sometimes I feel like the curved brushes don’t match the curve of my cuticles and I need that “corner” of the square brush to reach the sharper curves of my nail beds.

Oh wow, the Virgo polish doesn't suck! 😂😂I always dislike Zodiac collections b/c my sign ALWAYS gets the most boring dull as dishwater beige shade. That gold reminds me of an old H&M polish I have, and have wanted to dupe, so okay OPI you reeled me back in! IA w/ you, this collection is not amazing at first glance but it grows on you? lol Def. more holiday than fall, but there are some really nice ones here esp. the blues and the sparkly Cancer shade. I did like half of this collection 🤭. To me this whole collection felt a llitle Indie and I'm not mad, but they need to step up a notch still. I mean, there are A LOT of Indie brands with watery translucent polishes with effects, shimmers and flakies, as opi tried this time 🫤🤷🏻‍♀️. Now I want to see what they'll offer for Christmas!! I wish they would do a whole collection with the holographic finish in different colors 😍🤩 😅. It reminded me to the Zoya and the Dance Legend holos.

Wow - I would put Gemini and I over another color. It’s a pretty champagne color. The Cancer one is a great holiday polish too. And oh my goodness thank you OPI for Aquarius renegade. Finally, an OPI collection that doesn't make me want to throw up in boredom or disgust. I know they can make great polishes, but it seemed like they'd lost the thread lately. This one is worthy of the OPI brand. I won't buy all of them, but that's a preference thing, not because they're awful. Nice to see OPI and China Glaze both getting their acts together at long last. Remember what I said about OPI hurting themselves with collections that are too sprawling? Limiting themselves to 12 upped the creativity, because they weren't trying to do too much.

Ok here’s the thing …. When I first saw this collection at Beyond Polish I did not like it AT ALL. It was not a fall collection. And I still don’t like it. But I’ve come to realize I almost never like an OPI collection at first. Something about them takes me months to like them. For example I just realized a few weeks ago I want to pick up some from the Holiday 2022 collection. Crazy I know. So I will probably like this better in a few months. Yep. Crazy.

I love your channel! I had to LOL when you mentioned the OPI shade names. PUNS are what OPI has always been known for -- in every single collection since 1989, I believe. I personally love how clever the puns are, but yeah, I can see how some might not be a fan. I think the names are cute and fun. 😀 BTW, this Zodiac collection was a miss for me. I don't see it as a Fall collection at all. To me, I find some to be very beachy, as with the shimmery coral copper and the shimmery aqua; while others seem very Holiday. I found this collex to be a mishmash. On the other hand, I think the colors themselves are pretty. I love anything shimmery.

Green for Capricorn? Groundbreaking. (I'm a Capricorn and not surprised at all because so many companies do this) I don't like the sheer look and doing a creme base underneath seems so tedious with a large collection like this. The colors are gorgeous regardless of feeling like a holiday collection. I miss the city and country collections, they really are reaching for the younger audience with finishes and themes. Will I buy one or two? Probably. Will one be Capricorn? Eh.

A lot of these feel too pastel and too shear for fall. As for the brush-when used “correctly,” the brush actually fans out to make a nice curve around the cuticle. But, most people at home don’t know how to use it that way. I’m old school and that’s how I do my nails, so I have problems with the new, wide, rounded brushes 😂

There shouldn’t be a special way to use a brush to get it to work right. OPI’s brush hasn’t had an upgrade in years. It’s time!

@@naillacquertherapy but that’s what all the other nail polish brands are doing with their new brushes. If the person don’t use them like you do, it doesn’t apply correctly. OPI and Zoya-basically the same company-are the only mainstreams left that make brushes to be used how nail techs are taught.

Gen X hates puns. It's an eye rolling, or moaning kind of humor. It's weird that they became popular. I forgot to add most Gen X also thinks astrology is absolute bunk. I never met anyone who believed in any of it. It's also funny how every time it's back in fashion it adds something like colors for each sign and more personality traits etc.
