Thank you for getting this video out. Hoping you feel better soon. I think the reason they did a yellow is because ken’s hair is blonde in the movie. I don’t understand why OPI does not go all out when they do a collab. They used to like with the muppets collection or Alice in wonderland why not now. They really need to step up their game like china glaze and do more. Even Sally Hansen goes out of the box when they do a collab. And they are a drug store brand. I may only pick up the hi ken & hi Barbie just for the names. The rest of the collection is a pass for me.

I’m one of those people who likes the really sheer look of Yay Space - it’s like a more fun version of a sheer pink cream. You only catch it when the light hits it right. It’s not my favorite finish but it’s a great “no polish” look while still having the strength of a full mani

I was kind of hoping for something a bit more wow when I heard "Barbie Collection", too. I think the only colors I particularly like are My Job is Beach, Hi, Ken!, and Hi, Barbie! I kind of wish the glitter topper had some silver or pink holo in it. Indie "inspired by" collections tend to be way more adventurous and fun.

But though the shimmer toppers seem old fashioned to us, I believe they are in fashion again when worn alone, and glitter bombs just aren't at the moment. Maybe they will have their time again! The frosty/glitter look reminds me of Pineapples have peelings too, it just doesn't work, although I do have a fondness for its iconic ugliness! 😂

I totally agree with you - I wonder if the blue and the chartreuse? yellow? were thrown in to appeal people outside Barbie Universe (aka me). But why? These random blue and yellow/chartreuse which I find we saw in other collections this summer already. And with Opi continuing to release frosts, I guess they must fly out of the shelves. I have found when I have inflammation of my vocal cords that mint tea (hot or iced) feels very soothing.

Hi Janixa, hope you feel better😢. Summer colds are the worst! It's the penance of having young children. My son & then the family got whatever his friends were carrying... Well, now we know why you found the first color at the local dime store! Someone was prescient enough to know that this collection might not be as popular as expected LOL😅! I think I mentioned this before, but OPI moved their production & headquarters from The Netherlands to California. I wonder if they also sold the company? Because they are not as daring & surprising as before? I have many of their older polishes (like Teenage Dream & DS Royale)- & they are not the same.. Feel better J.🤗

Thanks for reviewing these. In my opinion, this collection is underwhelming. These polishes look like something that would’ve come out decades ago before we had tons of wonderful polishes to choose from. Even just looking at the previews for the Barbie movie, you can see these polishes aren’t the same bright saturated color story.

Well, this is underwhelming. The cremes are fine I guess, but the collection as a whole looks so uninspired and lazy. I agree that a completely pink collection with all kinds of different tones and finishes would've been fun.
