If you listen to what was actually being said they were more pissed about the double standard. They took shots at Howard and in turn got yelled at by the management for doing so. Then Howard goes on the air and takes shots at O&A and there's nothing done. They're more pissed at that then the shots Stern took.

For all your ignorant Howard fans: It was Howard who started this fight by crying to Mel; who in return had a gag order in regards to Stern, put on the O&A show when they where on NEW 102.7. And Stern denied the whole thing and wouldn't even talk to the O&A show. The whole thing was BS since they didn't even compete, being at two different time slots. Howard knew his time was up and was afraid. Remember this was all done before Sat radio. Thumb it up to the top!!

Arbitron says otherwise. Stern 100 has an 0.04, followed by Stern 101 with an 0.01. The Virus also has a 0.01 rating. That may seem significant, but it's actually not in terms of number of listeners. So, I hardly can see how Howie is "trouncing O&A in the ratings".

Not at all. Howard did the right thing going to satellite. The fundies and the FCC were making life miserable for his sponsors and Clear Channel. But we expected him to be MORE outrageous once he was off terrestrial and didn't have the FCC, Christian moms etc. breathing down his neck. Instead, it seems he became tamer. More PC, trying to give away kittens etc., that's not the Howie we all loved, or loved to hate back in the day.

@dxinsider agreed.i dont listen to the sirius show much as i find it too slow paced and i'm not crazy about the lady gaga appearances, but still love the billy west jackie martling era. even the artie era was good. it seems like the only thing keeping the o&a/howard feud going is the fans. del abate did an interview with jimmy not long ago, fred and opie work out at the same gym, martling is on o&a a lot. if the fans drop it i'de be interested to see what happens over the next 5 years

The Channel 9 show which had shit ratings, pay per views with gross acts and nudity (take Howard out of the equation, people would still buy it), books which (if released today) would barely make anything they made at the time of their original release (so, I guess there won't be any new editions of Private Parts?), a movie that was only the 56th highest grossing film of 1997 (Soul Food, GI Jane, and Jungle 2 Jungle made more money).

Howard's ego has become bigger than his own show, but he has a huge history in talk radio which is why he remains relevant. But I am getting sick of hearing Howards questioning in almost every interview where he brings up the size of his (or in a womans case, their spouse) penis. Also when Howard goes on about how important he is and better than everyone makes me turn it off.

listen to the actual audio of what howard said, not o&a's re-enactment. he was gloating about his former company failing without him. opie and anthony got very little bashing compared to his old bosses. o&a really spun the hell out of this trying to make it about them, and also say that getting fired from terrestrial radio and being back to square one, working for a company that howard helped build is not failure, and somehow HE's a failure. they are bitter and making excuses.

I've always liked both shows. I've been a Howard fan since I was about 14 years old back in 1990, I remember the Channel 9 show and the huge book deal and the E Show, it was great. I was a huge fan of OnA when they were big in the NY market from 99-2002. They were huge then... not as big as Howard, but still pretty damn big. Neither show is what it was back in their prime. If I had to choose between the two shows now I would choose OnA, except without Anthony it would be tough.
