He was maybe trying to say that he's trained in contemporary music, which pretty much means nothing either. You can be trained classically, as well as in other forms, but off the top of my head I'm not aware of any non-theory, practical university courses in pop, rock and roll, rock or rap. But let's get back to contemporaneously. "Contemporaneously" basically means "at the same time as". Which means Mr Negative Torso said, "I'm trained at the same time as!"
