Love my Opinel saw. I use it more often than any of my other saws. I find it works better for scraping in the closed position. It does take some getting used to being so short.

Thanks, yeah I figured it was me, its a bit shorter then I am used to so the first time I used it, I figured I was screwing it up. The second cut was super smooth and fast for such a tiny saw!

Nice review. I got mine on Amazon for 35. I bought one because they’re cool and you never know when you need a small saw. Good addition to a small kit especially if you carry a Mora. For real saw work I have carried for many years a Sven saw 21 which I am a huge fan of.

great job love your videos helpful hint and reminders! You have to remember the rules of 3's using your knife to cut in three places in a larger Branch to get through it quicker that goes the same for using your saw you cut in three different points with a smaller saw and you go through larger material. The camper sak can cut through a 3" Branch by cutting it in three different places.

I just got the #12 carbon blade...it does not have the locking ring. Is that normal? Yours has stainless right. Maybe thats why......

No locking ring? That's sounds like a company error. You should post pics of your saw becouse ive never heard of that happening before it would be very cool to actually see a mess up my opinel.

Opinel are a fantastic brand , i work on a boat , i use the number 8 blue plastic handle , stainless half serrated blade. cuts through polypropene heavy duty rope very well.

This saw works on the ‘pull’, in stead of push or pull/push like the bahco. So you need to adapt your technique on that.

Yes, you can get the Opinel No. 18, its the same size as a normal folding saw. I want to check that one out next.
