I miss the USA dremel bits. They had a nice variety of very well balanced grinder tips . A chainsaw grinder bit may work to sharpen the gut hook groove at a nice angle!

Very nice project...the butt inlay is a perfect addition. The gut hook is impressive. Your stitching pony was a clever adaptation. The stitching was very straight and looked great. The dangler was the right way to go with the sheath. Stepped up your game...going to be hard to top this one.

That is so cool! My hubby was watching and said - you could use a chainsaw file to get in the crook of the hook! I was still horrified that you cut it! lol! It turned out just beautiful!

I love that knife and sheath. I would love to have such a knife but my doctors tell me that I'm dieing. Something is destroying my blood. I won't be buying more knives. Great knife. You did a great job, George.

That Dremel of yours is the perfect thing for sharpening a guthook. A small sanding drum held at an angle to the blade will clean out a near perfect chisel edge on its internal radius. Hope that makes sense, but it really is the only tool you need for the job.

Clean your hands with rubbing alcohol. Works for me, great little project .not bad at all mini diamond file to get the shape of your gut hook shape then wrap some sand paper around a nail to finish. God bless..Lee

Looks great. Opinel will start making them. The 2nd chance George hunting knife. We have been having 105° days, supposed to start cooling down tomorrow. I would use a white or pink cylinder dremel stone.
