They are great knives but definitely not designed for torture..I have this same knife and it does work great and the hole for shackles also works well when they are to tight for your fingers alone all in all they are a great knife for there intended purposes jus be mindful and it will serve you well

I think this could be the ideal knife for mountaineering above the treeline, with the light weight and whistle.. Opinels only have one "heavy" part which is the blade and taking just a small bit of the meaty part off saves more than one would think... Fun vid❤️👍😎
