People who wants to work in offshore needs this training as mandatory. Many Institutions are offering the offshore safety training. But only OPITO approved training is valid in the interviews and has more chances for entry into offshore.

Fun training indeed and very informative. I did my OPITO T-BOSIET in Venture Gulf Training Centre in Qatar. They have very friendly staff , professional and cautious on the safety of the delegate. Helicopter part is darn scary, good thing one of the staff ease my anxiety. Thanks!

Try to get set up with a company stateside ... Get into the likes of Halliburton even at a any level ... maybe as a supply boat crew member, or truck driver then from the inside you can move up and see what's available...the like ex military types.. so this could be your way in...

Don't do the course unless you know a manager or an employment agent directly. You will NOT get a job offshore otherwise, don't waste your money if you dad, uncle, brother is not a manager offshore

You should only apply where you are legally authorized to work. For example if you don't have a valid passport that narrows it down to where you can apply.

You can't do it with goggles, as that would be nothing like the real thing. You can do it with contact lenses no problem though - I did several courses and refreshers for the North Sea when they were much more strenuous and realistic (particularly the fire-fighting) than those shown in the video while wearing contact lenses.

Most people that struggle will struggle with the helicopter drill in the pool. If you can't do it you will fail.

You can also fail if your nose is not like OPITO prefers. Explanation: People with wide flat nose can not pass the OPITO BOSIET course since they can not use the mandatory EBS device 04:00 (cant place nose clip on the nose 04:15).

Nehemiah Grant​ I was working in Africa and my candidates had problem with EBD and Opito responded that they can not pass if they can not use EBD. So the fact that you did not use EBD during training witch is mandatory and still pass means the training center is doing the only logical thing to do, fake and write in report that you did use it. People all over world are complaining on the nose clip of the EBD being to tight and hurtful. I for one can't use it, I have big nose and EBD nose clip hurts.
