Man, I miss this roster. G2 is still a great team with interesting personalities and tactics but.. Let's be honest caps has seen better days and the overall synergy they had in 2019 isnt there. BB is looking to become the best player on the current roster with his improvements every split, and he is great. But it's that synergetic chaos that worked well for 2019 G2 that is missing, Perkz should never have left G2's botlane as its where he shone the most and I feel like he was the key factor in enabling caps's boldness. Wunder as well was and still is an enigma, but I feel like his skillset isnt utilized by anyone but this specific assortment of players. It's a shame we'll never see them play together again.

Perkz adc is just so explosive. Also guys look at these champ drafts. These were the kinds of drafts that made g2 better than korea in that year. Very explosive and wombo comboey. Also so many carry champs. They should bring this team back and let them play these drafts

Honestly this 2023 G2 iteration is so fun to watch too. I get 2019 vibes. Yes the results were not there right now but they are all having fun and playing like they don't give a single fuck

They're great, probably similar form to 2019, but I doubt they can keep up with the Chinese player base of a billion or Korea where league is a religion. Competition just keeps getting better

They had such clean dives. Proactive map play and held their own in lane. Can't say the same for today. I wish more EU teams coordinated dives better

wow thanks, this is so nostalgic. A couple things a noticed from 2019: (1) Towers actually did dmg, nowadays literally every champ can tank 6 shots for w/e reason (2) Ornn was so balanced back then LMAO

Yes, Sword was a liability but Wunder would never be able to do what TheShy did to Sword. And once toplane isnt that skewed, the 3 other players would have put on a masterclass. Let's not engage in counterfactuals because G2 did get bodied TWICE in the group stage by the same GRF (in the rematch and tie-breaker), which you could also say were ramping up like FPX after groups.

Haven't seen Perkz at this form in awhile. We all know what he's capable of, would love it if he went back to peak form. In those plays, Perkz was just IQ 200, he knew exactly what his opponents would do. Perkz being a top tier mid laner opened up sooo many flex drafts. I mean, Renekton Mid, Jayce Top, Orianna Bot -- ugh. A fed Ori is deleting that ADC. Renekton should make a come back in the mid, Elise is always a decent pick, I don't know why she falls out of the meta. Being able to tower dive (outside of K'Sante, Ornn) you are really just 'food' for that carry jungler. Her clear speed has never been bad and with her spiders she always has a healthy clear and she's a great skirmisher and early game champ. With the way the meta is playin, there's nothing wrong with her. Pick vs Ivern and just dominate his jungle and carnivore style. -- She's oppressive with a lead even in the late game if you're ahead. Tank Ryze still does decent in the top lane. With teleport and Realm Warp, it's still strong. --
