Hope my research and ideas help you out and offer some new insights! What were your thoughts and ideas around Oppenheimer? I would love to discuss! Let me know below!

My favorite parts of this film were the visually abstract/ pure cinema moments. I felt like the abundance of characters and dialogue made watching this feel like more of a chore and it felt really exhausting to try to keep track of everyone and what their motivation was.

That was the one thing I liked about this film: The way it portrayed the beauty of mathematical genius! Too bad that in this case, this genius wasn't used for something good for helpful to human society...

I've watched dozens of reviews of Oppenheimer on KZbin, and yours is unquestionably the most thematically cool, clear and astute. Wonderfully organized. And put together after only one viewing of the movie! That is extremely impressive. You're superb. I also admire the movie much the way you do. I've subscribed.

You really didn't miss anything... it was uncomfortably and distractingly loud... Such a cheap trick, to auditorily "overwhelm" the audience in the quest to impress them... Apparently Nolan does this for all his films (?) which in my eyes cheapens him and also shows that he neither truly respects the public nor his own work....

@@lucasblue20 One other thought. Prometheus was doomed to have his liver eaten each night by the Eagle only to grow back for the following night's torture. I always viewed this act as a metaphor for Oppy's unconquerable alcoholism. Alas.
@lucasblue20 Жыл бұрын
Oh yeah that’s a clever thought! Very well could be another reason why the original book was called American Prometheus. I’m sure the authors had an endless list of parallels. Great observation!!

One other thing I’d like to add is that I don’t think that Nolan does a very good job with women characters. They tend to feel very peripheral to any plot and two dimensional in comparison to the male characters. If Nolan were ever to focus a story on a woman, I wonder if he could get better at that.
@HannahTrapeze9 ай бұрын
Nolan is clearly both sexist and racist...

you completely missed a giant part of the prometheus quote. having seen the film 9 times, the line is "prometheus stole fire from the gods and gave it to man / for this he was chained to a rock and tortured for eternity". that torture part is easily the most important part of that quote, showing how he felt that he gave something to humanity and was tortured for it. another massive theme is that or martyrdom, about how robert felt his guilt could be calmed if it "played the martyr" and gave up his life, like a martyr does.

This helped me understand it better. Just one question why does Einstein ignore Strauss at the end
@ThemeParkExplained Жыл бұрын
i think its because the last thing he says to oppenheimer is he "already did" start the neverending chain reaction that will end the world. It's this dark thought that sends Einstein skulking away, ignoring straus, to caught up with thus thought

Great analysis. Subscribed. Wanted to ask what are your thoughts of the black and white scene of Oppenheimer humiliating straus the second time along? Do you reckon it could have been dramatised from his perspective as was his perception (essentially fabricated) of what Oppenheimer spoke with Einstein about? Great video!
