Using an Oppo for the last 2 years. Looks like I am not going to switch to any other brand in future. Just look at that camera on x6 pro. Beats Iphone most of the time. Oppo is getting better and better.

Both are great for the average user. My preference is the OPPO as I prefer the look of that one inch sensor. I have heard no rumours that either Apple or Samsung are going one inch in the near future, so Chinese OEMs are the de facto choice for these better optics. The advantage that the 50mp periscope zoom is that we no longer need two zoom cameras (cheaper) to get great 3-10X zoom, even up to 30X is good enough for most. I am interested how Apple plays this, as if they just have one zoom, at say 6X, then what happens on 3-5X zoom? Rely on software (hybrid) like Google? I think Chinese have found the best option, 50mp periscope.

Western phone makers and Samsung better watch out. Chinese brands have absolutely been killing it in the mobile photography game. Other than Google, I don't think they're keeping up with these new Chinese phones as point-and-shoot devices.

I hope Chinese manufacturers now start to focus on video improvements to make their phones more complete packages. They need to work on their photographic software also, to really hammer home the advantage of their larger sensors. Do this and improve the quality of their device software overall and Samsung and Apple will be made to look also rans. GENUINELY.

Oppo is better, BUT the focused area is so small in some photos, that the loss of detail near the focused point weighs against the depth of field... which is better? a photo with 5% in focus and the rest out of focus or the same one with 20% in focus and with sharper details? Also, what if the camera chooses the wrong focus point? I think we'll have to keep clicking on the screen all the time before taking a photo... In short, the 1" sensor is welcome but it's still too early to say if it and only it will be in flagships... maybe the Mate 50 PRO solution, with variable aperture, is something more versatile and with similar results, no? Finally, I want to congratulate you on the comparison and leave my opinion in favor of the X6, especially in darker scenes, and for the beautiful background blur.

It’s very common to have things not in focus because of the bigger sensor. The higher the F-stop, the more narrow depth of field. On bigger cameras, they can control the f stop or have a ring to move the focus point. On phones, a lot of consumers would use auto or tap where they want it to be in focus. Or switch to pro mode to lower the aperture and get more of the subject in focus. It’s all in the matter of knowing how to control the blur. But most consumers don’t know how to is the big issue since they do not know how photography and videography work

You keep mentioning the bigger sensor on the oppo to make excuse for the iPhone short comings, that's pure bias. I don't know if you do it not to offend the Apple sheep on your channel. If Apple wants to perform better they should include bigger sensors on their phone cameras. I don't see you giving oppo a pass for Apple having an edge because they've got better OS/hardware optimization because they make both in-house unlike oppo, thereby giving them better software processing advantage. This is the problem with you western based reviewers, y'all are somehow bought by these American companies to put out biased content.

Great and beautiful hardware instantly killed off for me by the, yet again thicker bottom chin that is still there! I cannot understand why year after year after year after year of all sorts of tech development, we are still stuck with this horrible uneven design except for some very few random exceptions, or, sad to say, for the iPhones that feature (not the thinnest overall bezels by any means) but that are at least are uniform across all 4 sides. Ridiculous state of things..

This video makes me appreciate the iPhone more (I have a Samsung). The parts of the photo the video producer highlights as being "better" are not the subject of the photos. But they often fail to recognize that the subject of the photo looks significantly better on the iPhone. That is not to say that the iPhone always wins out, but it does a lot of the time when the video producer points to off-subject areas that are better on the Oppo.

This is typical SamApple sheep talk. The advantages of having a larger sensor will always outpace software. Software CAN help but you get this overly processed photo or video that just doesn't look natural. Larger sensors can soak up more light and gather more information than a smaller sensor, it's just physics. This particular phone Telephoto and ultra wide cameras are sensors that are usually found as a main sensor on most other devices. Your precious iPhone or Galaxy can't even do that. They always put gimpy little sensors for the ancillary sensors that are trash outside of perfect lighting.

I am a photographer who prefers Android, but iPhone is way better at processing highlights and colors. It looks more 3D-like except in low light situations. If they are improving at this pace, I might ditch my DSLR in like 5-10 years.

@@RB-mm7ce There were no phones even DSLRs that never wash out, but iPhone wins in most situations. And the difference is huge. Oppo tends to give brighter images, like exposing to the right, so it might look cleaner in some shots, but highlights are not detailed as iPhone. Exposing to the right also make the image look flat, iPhone looks 3D-like and heavy, giving that "it's actually there" feeling, like DSLR.
