Ausar's absence actually makes the presence of Holland invaluable as an athletic wing defender. Maybe the FO has been expecting the worst all along?? I definitely had some reservations about the Holland pick initially but they probably had the foresight about the severity of Ausar's condition and his extended time out. That said - let Holland soke up the Ausar minutes. Beasley, Ivey, Sasser, and THJ all project to be below average defensively(and thats putting it lightly). I will take it as a tanking signal if I see any combination of those 4 regularly.

My favorite starting lineup is Sasser at the 1. Hardaway at the 2. Stew at the 3. Joe Harris at 4 (Sign him again) and then Ivey as the small ball 5.

​@@ronaldwilliams9635Holland is a big gamble. He has a lower ceiling than Ausar. His floor is G League guy. But in a weak draft Ron was a reasonable gamble. I preferred Kel'el to Matas whom I had above Ron. But hopefully Holland will develop over the next few years

I like ron a lot, he’s currently isn’t better nor is he projected to be better than ausar, but potential is like a blank canvas so u never know whose gonna be better in the future

This guy really hates Ivey he can’t help himself Cade will space for Ivey and Ivey will do “the best he can” to space for Cade yet Ivey has the better career 3pt percentage and to end his rookie year he shot nearly 48% on unguarded c&s 3s ranking him in the 90th %~ile before Monty came and ruined his sophomore season New pobo Trajan stated Ivey has the ability to be an elite defender during media day so he must’ve seen some special things out of him on that end this offseason. Playing a one dimensional shooter next to Cade will not be Detroits “peek offense” Cade is not Luka even THJ stated that. The Pistons has always been about the team and not the player Cade needs someone out there to relieve stress off him and get him easy looks that’s Ivey’s job Bickerstaff alluded to this same statement

In a nutshell KU....the 7 you listed Cade,Beasley,Harris,Duren,Fontecchio,Ivey, and Stew will get their minutes. Having Reed,Holland and Klintman as your 8 thru 10 guys is not that bad at all!!! Just shows the depth and options the Pistons really have! Not counting on Sasser or THJ!

There still is the problem that the Piston's front line is too short. Two or three of these guys like Thompson or Sasser or ??? are going to have to be traded for a tall BIG. Too bad because I personally like some of these trade bait guys. What effect this problem has on the future of Thompson is unclear at this time. He has little trade value at the moment because of his health problems.
