At Bobbejaanland in Belgium, "Chaos" had a sister ride made by the same company with the same design. It is called "Revolution."

The outside of the ride was pretty awesome as well. Remember those huge gears on the building? On the inside, standing in line, was cold. But it felt good on a hot summer day... The voice came over the intercom and said " Please move quickly through the station, your time is running out." You could actually feel the ride going above you, as occassionally the wall would shake and you would hear a loud roar.. My childhood was turned into my worst nightmare,,, 'shopping'

I own the orginal opening sign for chaos. when they shut everything down, GAYlord sold everything, so that's my piece of the best ride ever.

The clock shattering was so vivid. The tunnel was very air-conditioned and there were always people making out in it. I remember that creepy woman's voice like it was yesterday. Then the arcade at the end. I have many other memories of this ride, but I could go on forever. It's crazy how there are so many videos of Revolution but not Chaos.

I remember the announcements telling you to board the trains like we were escaping some disaster. The clock sounds. The pendulum dropping and braking the clock face. Loved that ride.

in chaos there was a hige clock you rode round and round till finally a pindilum or however its spelled fell and burst the clock. it was sweet. While you would stand in line for this ride there would b clocks ticking on the wall and a voice would come over the speakers n say "please move quickly through the statiopn, your time is running out."
@jorbennoten95363 жыл бұрын
Well revolution also had that i think these are some older footage from after the clock was removed because it broke but it is still there altough the bottom clock is at the top and on the bottom there is a volcano it would be pretty amazing if you see this comment since yours os 13 years old

On school trips to Opryland, me and my delinquent friends would use the darkness of Chaos to quickly and sneakily smoke cigarettes. I really miss Opryland.

I really miss Chaos. The second time I rode it, there was some reactor billowing smoke in the middle of the room, and a train was laying on the floor on its side. As you neared the top, the whole room got dark, and warning lights started flashing, and odd alien-ish creatures appeared perched on the walls above you. It wasn't as good that time around, but still a very fun roller coaster.

Wow this takes me back nearly 30 YEARS (1987) to when our junior high class went to Opryland and my friends talked me into riding this. I HATED coasters so I was nervous but this was wonderful - I still adore this ride. One of my faves.

I remember my step dad took my mom to Opryland in I think 1991 and he loved this ride; he called it "a better version of Space Mountain". This ride was changed several times over the 9 seasons it operated at Opryland including making most of the ride almost entirely pitch black and even adding VR to the ride at some point as well. Revolution in Belgium is essentially unchanged from it's original 1989 theme.

They only had the 3D glasses for a short time. People kept throwing them down on the screen. Sometimes they had them/sometimes they didn't. You never knew what you were going to get with that ride. Something would always be broken or different about it. You could see the glasses and all the stuff people would throw during certain flashes of light during the ride.

i used to love this ride in opryland. it was changed around a bit through the years as parts broke down and a monster was added later. in the original version i remember the clock, there was also video of some sort of wizard or something? thanks for posting!

Because there is no videomaterial of the 1989 period of this ride and or chaos, I made a 3d simulation which shows the revolution in many fases. You can watch the entire history of the revolution on my account including the 1989 version with 6 projection screens and original music. For those who remember, or those who never experienced..

too bad nowadays in belgium half of the seats are reserved for VR glasses (which I think is absolutely ridiculous as the appeal of this ride is the illusion effects/music) The capacity of the ride is slashed by half and the music has been shut down for the VR-users

This seems like a weird ride to have had in a country music theme park (Chaos at Opryland USA).
@carlasanders696 жыл бұрын
Opryland wasn't a country music theme park. It was a music theme park. Nashville is called Music City, not country music city. Opryland embraced several forms of music from rock, pop, progressive, bluegrass, show tunes, country, folk, jazz and classical.
