Ok, the magnetic electrical connection point are very futuristic and are an amazing concept deriving from SciFi. The ability to instantly connect pieces of gear or even armor and have it connected to a power source to utilize power for said attachment piece or even just to transmit data is something that I’m looking forward to in the future for more armor and weapon systems/components.

nice to see they updated the bump. I hope the price is something not too much more than the original molded shroud bump. I'm hoping it's around $500 so it's a good level from this option, then the carbon bump, then up to the ballistic options.

I'm also glad they did this mod because I was going to make my bump into a super high cut with my dremmel lol.

Bro you think $500 for a bump is a good price? It is literally a skateboard helmet with camo. I have 100+ jumps and always look for decent lids. Don't waste your money. If you are dropping coin then go with a ballistic helmet. Otherwise, look anywhere else.
@charlieghague Жыл бұрын
They just raised the price on bump helmets by $100 on the website in the past month or so. Not sure why but team wendy did the same thing. Guessing it's due to inflation and supply costs. I'm just hoping the new price is what the new bump will go for but I'm guessing it'll be more in the $500-600 range.

Why is the battery pack powered via AA batteries and not 18650, 18350, or CR123? Nearly all high power weapon lights and IR lasers use 18650/18350/CR123. That would substantially minimize the battery logistics involved.

@Rb889 Жыл бұрын
Negative, they're the same as transitions lenses in prescription glasses, they change color/tint in response to UV light. EMP is video game stuff, not an issue in reality. If the EMP is strong enough to fry personal electronics, it's probably strong enough to fry your nervous system. But more importantly, you'd have to survive the nuclear blast that just went off above your head, first.

I'm not a huge fan of all the IR equipment on the helmet. Usually the bleed from the PEQ ir laser is enough to ID targets. For admin stuff I just keep a redlens headlamp around my neck. I know the Russians have embarrassed themselves lately but any near peer with NVGs will absolutely take advantage of the lack of discipline most people with IR illuminators or beacons have. I guess it's probably a good tool for law enforcement for when all 50 iq points are busy moving like nuns fuk through the funnel and then shooting your dog and flashbanging the crib blowing out baby snuffy's lungs. The last thing you should want is a huge bright indicator ON your head saying "My head is right here and I have at least $4k USD gear" in a peer on peer or SHTF situation.

You have a point. It's a good police application or if you're fighting enemies that wear flip flops but not for near peer or peer enemy.

@@notundermywatch3163 I figured the IR beacon is more of a situational bit of PPE. "Hey, we've got air assets coming in for a gun run, beacons on so they know not to light our asses up."
