I know this is late but it bothered me that he kept calling the hip caps "rocket missile things" (4:00) but they are flares. He uses them in Iron man 1 when he gets into interactions with the F-22's

The MARK II was not repainted. The Mark III was made of Titanium Gold Alloy and was repainted with Hot Rod Red.

Dude their not called missile thingies there called flairs. Secondly the mk2 suit was used again until Iron Man 2 when Tony starks friend roady stole it from him, mk2 was never used for mk3 , it was only used for flight testing

If it had the mirror chrome finish like in the movie it will tarnish over time. Believe me Bandai chogokin has that mirror chrome and it's a pain in the butt to clean

He didn't repaint the mark 2. He made another armor from gold titanium alloy which looked similar to the mark 2 and painted it in the red and gold scheme. This Arnie was the mark 3. And yes, he never used the flares in his hip disks when using mark 2.

Actually MK3 wasn’t a MK2 repaint. This suit was taken away by Rhodes when he beat the shit out of stark in the second movie then it was modified to become the war machine suit. So this proves that the MK3 was a new molded suit, not a repaint. No hate for optibotimus i love you man keep up the good work - your subscriber since 2010~

The mk3 is not a repaint, after the test flight tony asked jarvis to reconfigure the armor to use a gold-titanium alloy to solve the icing problem he encountered on the mk2, it was all gold so tony said "throw a litle hot rod red in there", jarvis informs fabrication time of 5 hours. kzbin.info/www/bejne/eovEcnl3edR5Z68 The mark2 can be seen on display after rhodes goes to rescue tony.

Hey ,optibotimus, great review like always! Im still debating whether to buy this or the mark iv with the gantry. Would you like to see a new version of the mark iii that is a darker red, and has battle damage pieces? That way, they can re-use this mould, and also please the people who hated/didn't get the first diecast mark iii.

Do you have the original MK II? If you do, i would say it depends on how you're going to display him. For me, it sits in the Hall of Armor, so...it's almost not that big of a difference. The MK IV i have preordered myself but not with the gantry...too much of a space eater and again, the IV will go in the Hall. I'd love to get a MK III with the battle damaged pieces. There are 3rd party pieces you can buy for the die cast MK III but i don't wanna have to buy something extra....i feel it should always have been included.

There's three iterations of both the Mark II and III.. The latest versions of both being Diecast. The best versions but far from perfect and definitive like the Marks V and VI and possibly IV.
