Couple major financial points that are missing from the discussion. Seattle wouldnt just get to sit on the buyout , they would have to replace Pred and replacing Pred with an equivalent talent would take a good chunk of the buyout in the first place. It never really made sense for Seattle to sell unless Optic offered F U money. Second, OpTic is going to be paying 5 solid salaries. They have an incentive to get Dashy off the books cuz right now they are paying him for no value. If he has a clause that says he gets paid less on the bench, then his buyout will be higher, but if he doesnt they will move him for the first reasonably favorable offer and it doesn’t need to be close to the Pred buyout.

As a SEA fan I am glad they didn't sell. They are probably the most secure financial org in the CDL, by being joint with Canucks sports and entertainment. I think the most important aspect of a franchise if building/having a strong, positive, and healthy team culture from top to bottom. I think they have shown the world they are going to stand tall with their players. They chose to run it back with the roster, and now they have declined the largest buyout. Players ae going to notice this, and if they want a good org with money and good culture, SEA is their stop.

If it wasn't Pred or Asim, Huke should fill that spot pretty well. Fast paced sub with Shotzzy; Scump can do his thing with an AR or a sub and hit hills or control points with them, or lock down lanes or fight for spawns with illey...should be interesting..

I haven't seen anyone talk about this, but what if Optic are planning on Dashy for next year? Huke allows them to essentially have a free trial with Illey on main and some more pace alongside ant at sub. Let's say it doesn't work out with huke as well as they are hoping it does by the end of the year, for any number of reasons... then in the off season they pick up pred to run alongside ant, scump retires, and then they bring dashy back in to run main. Maybe I'm crazy, but if I'm hecz, hastro, or ray, I'd be insane not to, at the very least, consider a roster of Dashy, Illey, Pred, and Shotzzy.
