Hi saumya.. your videos are always very informative. I have a problem. My smart tv has HDMI, hdmi arc and a aux type output port. My Bose solo 5 soundbar doesn't have hdmi port. It has optical, coaxial and aux in ports. I don't understand which type of cord or converter should I use to connect my TV with the soundbar. I didn't find compatible cables with the soundbar. It has an optical cable at both ends. Please help me.

He is wrong with Optical cable u can get 5.1 channel DTS, Dolby Digital and 2.0 PCM. So dont worry with any streaming device with an ptical cable connected to a reciever/soundbar u can enjoy great audio

@@GEEKYSOUMYA Bro i am getting dolby dts and its decoding on my hometheater . Note its not synthesised . Spdif carries digital thats it. If your source have Dolby content and source encode it , it comes through one of digital port i.e . spdif optical. Moreover you receiver AV system must have have Dolby decoding which comes through, only your receiver have its dolby protocol implementation and have certification.

One more point to be added. As i said optical cable is just medium to carry data and its digital. Now its depend upon your source from sound is decoding, If your source has hardware implemented such that it doesn't send dolby encoded data through optical and only sends through HDMI then in that case you wont get dolby from optical. So it ultimately depends upon OEM, however My sony PS4 does output dolby encoded digital data via optical and my AV receiver which is dolby certified sucessfully decode it and produce different channels . I know difference between synthesised encoding and decoding for surround sound, which PS4 doesn't . If PS4 has stereo then it ouputs digital stereo and not digital dolby, in this case my AV receviver donot blink for decoding, it gives plain L/R channels. I stay in Delhi , you are welcome to see demonstration.

We are not talking about data bandwidth which is carried in optical cable. FYI optical carries compressed data which is almost lossless. So Optical carries dolby encoded digital data compressed for different channels(5.1 example) only if OEM of hardware implements it and doesn't fool customer. Many Cheap products from Big brand does cheating. Customer wont understand and confused in alot terms. some time companies took certification and shows its certified but wont implemented becuase of licensing.. Oh god God saves future.

Final Point:: Buy optical cable wisely as older version its supports 3 Mbits/sec which was limitation for encoded signal even if it is compressed so earlier days it was use for Linear PCM. Now its 120 Mbits/sec which is brillinat enough. In market people got older version of cable and says my optical device is not giving 5.1 dolby. So its entire infrastructure

TRY RCA HDMI ADAPTER, IF YOU HAVE TWO HDMI PORTS, THEN BUY SINGLE PORT adapter, if you got only one, then you will have to change the cables between set top box and PS2, though buy good quality one, don't fall for cheaper ones!!

Bhai.. tuje toslink k bareme kuch patha nhi.. duniya ki jo internet cable chalrahena tere ghar tak.. wo sab optical cable se he. Wo kya tuje dual channel se jyada nhi dega.. galat explanation. Hdmi 64mbps carry karsaktahe.. optical 25gbps carry karsaktahe. But, uske upgrade versions nhi aya isliye piche rehgaya. Baaki 5.1 aur 7.1 lossless and without fluctuate audio sirf optical se possible he.
