Thanks for choosing OPTIMA! Keep your YellowTop fully-charged to ~13.0-13.2 volts whenever possible and it will serve you well

Great video I’m trying to do the same with my GMC Yukon very similar set up

Sergio Delgado I’m glad I did the upgrade! The optima 3478 yellow top was the only one I found to fit well. If your Yukon has the same battery location then it should be easy with this tutorial. It took me a lot trips to the auto part store but finally figured it out.

What do you do if you need to jumpstart the truck?

put bolts in the side post there is just enough room to get jumper cables attached or pull that cross bar off....but payin over 300 for a yellow top worrying how you're gunna jump it shouldnt be a concern

Hi Sergio Delgado what do you mean “secure the bottom on the battery”? Where the battery sits?

Why did you go with "34/78" size instead of the "H6", which is the recommended size for all 2014-2018 Chevy Silverado/GMC Sierra 1500? Not only does the H6 have 50 more CCA (800) than the 34/78 (750), it is made to fit in the 2014-2018 GM 1500 trucks, and is the size Optima recommends for them. The H6 also has 140 minutes of reserve capacity (72 AH), whereas the 34/78 only has 120 minutes (55 AH). As far as size, the 34/78 is taller and not as long as the H6, which is why it didn't fit properly and why you had to do all those modifications and buy extra parts. The H6 is already 2+ less in length than the OEM battery size (94R/H7) and the 34/78 is another inch shorter than that. Doesn't make much sense why you went with the 34/78, because the H6 is obviously superior in every way compared to the 34/78 for 2014-2018 GM 1500 trucks. Thanks for posting the install video though, since at this time, Optima doesn't make a direct replacement (94R/H7 size) for the OEM battery. Optima had a press release at the end of 2017 stating it was adding the H7 size to the yellow top lineup, but as of November 2019, it is still not available.
