I've had the MX5 for awhile use it as a studio tool, your videos are always interesting and I learn new things about this box every time. I tend to stick EQ between the amp and cab.

The tones you're getting are great! I've just purchased an MX5 and am finding your videos super useful. I was wondering if I'd made a mistake getting the MX5 over a Line 6 Helix Stomp, so thanks for helping me get to grips with it 😎

Thanks for the MX5 video series, enjoying it a lot. As for the reverb placement, I think both options sounded decent with their own uses for different scenarios. I tend to place reverb last in my signal chain, that’s just the way I have been taught. When discussing the signal chain many people on forums tend to get elitist… at the end of the day, if it sounds good to your ears - it is well placed.

That is correct. I used reverb in front of a dirt pedal while recording a band and it made for a really in your face guitar part. Final sound is all that matters.

I own the MX5, I really want to love this unit but realistically I know I won’t ever be blown away by it, however I am impressed with the flexibility and versatility, I’m still learning so maybe I’ll get to the point where I do absolutely love it? Don’t get me wrong, I’m still having a lot of fun fiddling around with it for now. Lastly, I will say it’s very user friendly when it comes to navigating through all the parameters. Cool video and thank you for the tips.

For recording or going direct to FOH the Headrush is a great product. You will not feel the immediacy like you would with a tube amp but its easy to dial in practically any sound you could imagine. Let me know if you have any questions.

I'm a novice when it comes to these types of boards. I have the Headrush looper board. I don't use it very often. However, I was thinking about getting the PRIME board, however, the size of those boards are on the bulky side. So, I picked up the MX-5. This video gave me a huge boost in getting started with the MX-5. The stomp feature of the MX-5 just great for a small light board. If size wasn't 50% of the concern would I have been better off just going with the PRIME board? Sweetwater, just so happens that's where I purchase all my music equipment.

You can do a lot with the MX5 when you set up the setlist to contain the rigs you need for any given situation. From there you can switch from Rig view to Stomp view to get even more flexibility.

I’ve enjoyed putting the reverb in between the amp and cab, that’s what amp-based reverb would be like

I have an issue where all my tones sound incredibly weak like theres barely any signal Like just putting on an amp and cab sounds nothing like anything anyone else's sounds like and I have no idea why. At first thought it might have been my emgs but my passive sound the same. Tried different cables ect, swapped out battery on actives. Cant figure it out

Have you checked your input and output levels? Use chatgpt to help you find your tone. I did this to achieve a qotsa tone and got pretty close.

I can't understand it, I select exactly the same parameters as you and it still sounds clean, what could be the reason? there's something i'm missing, Thanks in advance.

@@DoctorMcFarlandStudios Humbucker , Alnico V , is a yamaha Revstart Standar, I mean when you add only the amp, it sounds distorted to you, but I can't get that distortion. Could it be my guitar? Sorry, I'm a newbie. :D, Thanks.

The tones are very harsh I think you need to first make the sound as clear as possible (parametric and graphic EQ + output levels and frequency fix) , compared to many headrush users these tones are like coming out of DigiTech's multi-effect devices from the year 1999 :D
