The material chosen is really important for the stiffness you mentioned. I got one of Dathper’s printed in a nylon carbon fiber material, and it is wicked stiff, no flex even when putting as much pressure as humanly possible, so the design doesn’t necessarily need to be reinforced, the material can just be changed.

It's printed in resin, Optimum made it this way to get a nice and smooth feel

what switches is he using? i’m assuming they’re the razer v3 opticals since it’s using the vv2 pcb? i wish more mouse companies would tune their clicks like that to be super light and spammable. i hated the clicks on the vv2, they were too stiff.

2:48 If you use your shoulder & elbow to move the mouse, it doesn't matter what shape it is or how you hold it, because you aren't moving your fingers or wrist at all. Fingertip players don't hold it with fingers just because it's comfortable, but also because they find it the best way to aim.

@@stalloneCS True, but I suppose fingertip grippers use mainly fingers and a high sens to aim, so they probably don't need the whole arm. Boardzy uses mostly shoulder and elbow to aim but no fingers, though the mouse is essentially a fingertip mouse.

The tought that you basically have just the unprotected PCB with mouse skates in your hand is weird to me. It's so fragile, you could sneeze and a drop of water shorts two contacts. Or slip with your finger and rip off a component from the PCB. It's interesting tech but I prefer something a little bit more protected and robust. At the very least I'd want some kind of coating to protect the PCB

The whole point is that it minimizes weight using the unique way fingertip grip holds the mouse. It’s really only for enthusiasts. It would definitely be interesting to see a box-like shell as a compromise.
