can you burn alcohol with it?
@SpaceExplorer317 жыл бұрын
Also purges almost all the fuel from the fuel line unlike most. Another thing the pump is metal which means you can leave it in the the bottle which means less work and less mess.
@SpaceExplorer317 жыл бұрын
Best stove in the market in my opinion. Don't have to jets or adapters. Primes faster than any other stove in liquid mode.

I have the Nova and really want this one.

You can use denatured alcohol, or yellow bottle heet as fuel. No soot if flare ups happen.

The flame on the canister was difficult to bring down to a simmer, because the canister was inverted.. If you set it up right, it will use the canister isobutane more efficiently and more controllable..

Your flameplate dosent get glowing red hot ? Mine gets glowing red hot pretty fast.
@rdkuless3 жыл бұрын
LOL...I think you are supposed to Prime the Liquid fuel line to deposit a little in the dish... Then shut off the valve and light the priming fuel in the dish... When the flame calms down, then open up the valve near the stove to regulate the flame.. :)

Hey bro dumb question for a liquid fuel nube, when on a hike or camping trip do you leave the pump in the fuel bottle the whole time, or stow it every time?
@impermanenthuman84273 жыл бұрын
Seems to be a lot of negative reviews with the quiet stove caps on Amazon? Many people report ‘internal’ burning of the fuel within the cap? How do the ‘silent cap damper’s on eBay from Korea compare to the ‘quiet caps’? Or what about berniedawg caps? I have an Optimus Polaris and an MSR XGK EX I’m interested in quietening them both down but not at the expense of safety Thanks

Hi, Thanks nice playlist you’ve made really interesting. Do you think you can pack your liquid fuel bottle with the pump installed in your backpack? Leaving the cap of the bottle home..

Ive only recently ordered this stove. Ive never used liqud fuel before. I was thinking that myself and i wouldn't trust it. It is metal to metal unlike the plastic pumps. So probably wouldnt break. But of somthing Malfuctioned or the valve somehow turned a little bit to allow a drip. Your stuff could get ruined .

I want to mount this in my trangia using trangias burner cup that was designed for the Optimus Nova. Has anyone done this. I need to remove the pot support and legs just leaving the burner to do it. Anyone ever done this?

Good video! I am thinking about getting one now. Quick question though, I know about pumping pressure to the fuel bottle before firing up the stove. But do you need to pump up more pressure during the cooking session?
@jiujitsu20007 жыл бұрын
Tactical Rob thank you for the kind words and stopping by and showing your support. for the most part you can cook a meal without having to pump the stove. if you're cooking a meal that takes a long time you might lose pressure and be required to pump a little bit

can you use alcohol as the fuel for Optimus Polaris Optifuel?

Nope. If that was possible It'd be very cool

@@jiujitsu2000 (question-1) but have you tried to burn alcohol with Primus OmniFuel/OmniLite Ti? I've tried it, by drilling one of its jet hole to 1 mm. But not satisfied enough with its fuel efficiency. Takes longer to boil 1 litre of water compare to butane+BRS3000T. I use Pure Grain Alcohol or Food Grade Alcohol, which is pricey, and was not shown significant performance difference than using methanol/spirit/spirtus. Just thought about it now, (question-2) will drilling the jet hole to 1.1-1.5 mm contribute to better performance?

they make silencers for these types of stove it looks kind of like a steel pipe cap with holes drilled round the side of cap

Is the end of the pump plunger plastic or metal? The green part looks like plastic.

you have it wrong when you said the Polaris' feet are MORE stable as those long legs on the MSR are longer and even if NO flat feet were on either those long legs on MSR can do the job just as well as Polaris' IT'S JUST TOO OBVIOUS !!
@jiujitsu20006 жыл бұрын
norm lor ha ha, I love both stoves. Just sharing my opinion. Thanks for stopping by!
@fonimer5 жыл бұрын
When you turn it down to a yellow flame, all you're doing is adding soot to your stove. Not really a true simmer. I like your vids though...
