Fun fact: Duke actually did die in the G.I. Joe movie...or was SUPPOSED to. After the huge backlash to Optimus's death, they had to redub the already-animated scene to add a line about how he's gone into a coma. Then at the end of the movie they have a thrown-in-there line about how he's come out of it. Clumsy, perhaps, but a good save on their part.

The end scene with him saying he was alright on The walkie-talkie was added after they saw the outcry following Optimus' death.
