This was an amazing Transformers film. I love the symbolism of the birth of Optimus and Megatron. The fact that Megatron looks like he's risen but in reality has fallen, by becoming a Monster who just killed his "Brother". Optimus looks like he's fallen but instead rising up as a Hero, who will lay down his spark for others, so they can have a better future.

And from the speech alone, from some YTbers analysis, is also has very distinct punctuality. D-16/Megatron always talks about promises and the power, and using a lot of I's, indicating he is going to be made everyone kneels before him as he saw himself/deemed himself to be worthy. While Orion Pax/Optimus always talk about togetherness, solidarity, one bot to another, the concept of loyalty and kindness, to forgive is harder than to taking revenge, also using a lots of We's. Indicating he's both ready to he leader and open to everyone, and let then help him build the planet together.

Everyone saying "thats so hypocritical" because pax tried to save sentinal while bee was commiting crimes, needs to understand that when bumblebee was slashing people they hadnt "won" the conflict, it was still a battle. but at the point D16 was trying to kill sentinal, they had already won the conflict, hence paxs "its over, everyone in iacon knows"... for pax victory was saving the people, but for D16, victory was eliminating the enemy.

Yeah, there's a difference between killing soldiers on the battlefield during an active "war" and publicly executing the highest government figure after he lost. It was kind of annoying seeing so many people not understand the difference.

Okay for those who were confused about the whole "we will not be blinded by his deception" part and pointing out why they would even associate themselves as "decepticons" Its quite clear that the etymology is "deception" and "con" which is to contradict deception. Megatron has had enough of being lied to his whole life, so it would stand to reason why on the surface he chose "decepticons" as the name of their faction. But in doing so, he became the very thing he sought to destroy, because as well all know, the very tactic of the decepticons is manipulation and deception. One they consider "necessary" to their misguided cause. Thus, the name "Decepticon" has garnered a double-meaning, where "con" can be associated with being a "con artist" which is a person who manipulates and bends the truth. But if you were to make a more nuanced sense of the name, its meaning can be considered as a "defiance against systemic betrayal" through aggressive means that they see fit.

The weird thing with the montage leading to Optimus' superhero landing is that starting from when Megatron killed Sentinel Prime, it felt like chaos. Like, who are we gonna side with? Who's on the right? Who's gonna win? Where is this movie going? We get conflicting messages. Megatron yells his name, Alpha Trion whispers Orion's new name, and then Megatron started blasting, then Elita and B-127 take action, it's all a mess...until Optimus put his foot down and everything just stopped. Reminds me of that scene of Orion's memories being restored by the Key to Vector Sigma in Transformers Prime. Megatron got distracted by the other Autobots, it could go either way, then Megatron sensed that the restoration almost completed, he yells a big "NO!" and then Optimus catches his blade. Amid the silence, "Megatron.... *BEGONE.* "

The best transformers movie in to date. The extreme differences in their morals at the end. And another major difference: Optimus was GIVEN power, while Megatron Stole power almost the same exact way that Sentinel stole power.

They were actually shown to have character, being afraid of him. But there's another issue, which makes them incomparable: bee and optimus defended themselves, while megatron was committing a war crime, killing person who already surrendered. It is a war, so people DO kill others, trying to survive, that's the point of war. If people think otherwise, then, i believe, they should read less shounen manga, where protagonists don't kill anybody at wars. It's like Kiryu from Yakuza. He does kills people, but only those who threaten his life, and not very often. Yet, he never picks the fights by himself.

Imagine the awesomeness of it all, seeing Optimus Prime feel for the first time that he has to kill Megatron. Bloodlusted, he gets so much extra power from the Thirteen, and his eyes glow the same way Megatron's does in TFOne's final battle, except blue.

Even if they were sentient, there’s a difference. That was a battle, they were all actively fighting so they could expose and stop Sentinel. With D16/Megatron, they had won already, there was no reason anyone else had to die. Megatron wouldn’t have stopped until anyone who he sees helped oppress him was reduced to slag, including anyone who didn’t even know about the betrayal, but benefited from the systems put in place. Optimus is merciful. Mercy is not leniency, but it is the absence of cruelty in discourse, and the use of compassion in judgement. He would move to punish those involved, and forgive those who weren’t. He recognized no one else needed to die that day

I get what they were going for with Orion not wanting D to kill Sentinel since they had already shown everyone the truth and thus he would face justice properly instead of death for revenge concept. But if you think about it, it seems unlikely that someone like Sentinel, who was in charge for so long as effectively the sole leader of Cybertron, wouldn’t be able to avoid charges somehow or escape. To quote a wise Jedi, “he is too dangerous to be kept alive.”

one of the better scenes. Tho Megatron losing like that despite having a Prime's core is whack. If they really wanted to impress, it woulda been a tie. Though this makes sense because he's not a Gladiator so him being that strong wouldn't make sense for a miner, which is WHY he should've been a gladiator So satisfying to see Elita shut up tho when Megatron slams her AFTER she tells Orion "I'm better than you", lmfao, sweet karma. Both Megatron and Optimus Prime crossed the line. Megatron had every right to want Sentinel dead but crossed a line when he struck down his friend. Optimus was an idiot and a Mary Sue for trying to stop Megatron knowing full well Sentinel was a murderer of the highest order and let's not even mention how he "used" the transformers' cogs to build an empire. Yea, Sentinel deserved to die many times over 1000%

Optimues wanted to give Sentinel a fair trial so EVERY ONE of the miners he wronged can JUDGE him themselves, it will all lead to execution anyways. But Megatron killed Sentinel for his OWN self-satisfaction, and blind anger.

You can't give a fair trial to Sentinel knowing he didn't give a fair chance to any of the bots nor the primes he wasted. There was absolutely zero chance of Sentinel taking any form of control again, and zero chance of him escaping, not when the entire city is against him _and_ he's injured _and_ his forces have been crippled _and_ his right hand/most competent operative is beaten _and_ the High Guard had returned to reinforce Iacon and would 100% work with Orion and the Miners to keep Sentinel from escaping. The only path forward for him was a trial and either an execution decided on by the people, or having his cog removed and being forced to work for the rest of his existence to pay his debt to society while being kept around for any intel he might've had. Sentinel was not a threat, not anymore. Sentinel was beaten, not even the Quintessons would've saved him, because they had no use for him now that he couldn't control the people of Cybertron anymore. Orion was trying to do 2 things, put the power of choice back in the hands of the people who needed it, the people of Iacon, and get his friend off his violent path which would undoubtedly lead to pain and suffering. Orion didn't save Sentinel because he cared about Sentinel, he stopped D because killing Sentinel was the worst option for _everyone._
