minecraft had so much potential for an interesting film. You could've made an approach of just an interpretation of playing the game, protagonist starts off in a dirt hut and all sorts of comedy and montages of resource gathering, hijinks, something fun to watch while also faithful to the games. The "Cast from the real world being sent through a portal into the Minecraft world" is the same starter theme that has been tried and tested time and time again with various different films that came decades before, it was used in the Super Mario Movie when Mario and Luigi who started in Brooklyn went down a pipe portal to the Mushroom Kingdom, same with the 1993 Super Mario Live Action film where the portal was like some glitch in the matrix-type scenario where they fell through a liquified space in a cave wall. The same happened with Alice in Wonderland and many others. It's the default concept you would come up with when you're writing a story that involves the borderline between reality and fiction and you have no creative idea on how to bridge these two dimensions than just portals, because it feels like the only way to go from one dimension to the other and back.

@@bookert5832 Minecraft is better animated than real life people, the Legend of Zelda movie can get a pass due to some of the games having more realistic looking graphics but Minecraft should be an animated movie even if it’s gonna be a BAD animated movie it’ll be better looking than a real life one
