I just beat the game on Hard mode! Probably the first game i ever have beaten on hard mode :D :D :D So this calls for a replay of Rebirth on hard mode aswell :) Your instructions have been invaluable, since you always just put in the bare bones materia that is _needed_ then let's the player fill in whatever they want. And as the game progressed i felt that i really started to get into the thought process and the mechanics of the fights. It really deepend my understanding of the game as a whole :)

Honestly no offence at all, if this is your first game on “hard” HOW???? this is probably the most broken hard most I’ve ever played, it’s so bad, I’ve platinumed some of the hardest games possible including wolfenstein 2 but this game alone has retired me from platinum hunting because of how bad it is but some how people are finishing this as their first hard mode ever????

@birthd-y You litterally have to deep dive into the strategy of the bosses and their elemental weaknesses. Some bosses were "easier" than others and some were difficult. The Hell House was the most difficult one i'd say. I failed several times on many of the bosses. Just follow optinoobs guides and think about the bosses strategies during combat etc.

First tried this as well because of your guide. Worked like a charm. Just be patient and it goes pretty smooth. Although, since I'm not as skilled with perfect timing dodges and being on top of which attack is coming, I stacked Barret a bit more - with MP absorb and healing (didn't lose any MP to heal frequently) as well as prayer whenever everyone needed something extra. I put prayer on Tifa too because Regen just doesn't quite do it for large HP attacks that I'm not as good as avoiding/mitigating. I did put a revive in there, but thanks to this guide I didn't need it. With prayer on Tifa she had more MP carry over to the next fight with Sephiroth, so she was able to help out more with that (I needed all my characters to run as much support materia as they could carry - no open materia slots for me - lol - Your skill is amazing.)

Blocking was the best tip lol. Tifa died straight away and was MIA the entire fight. Ended up with Barrett at the end instead and beat sephiroth with 60 HP left on aerith haha. Shit was intense.

Something to note is that Barret naturally gains far fewer points than Tifa or Aerith during the fight so you really have to try extra hard to get Barret into the Sephiroth fight. So it's not really necessary to go out of your way to "do nothing with Barret." Use him as needed because he's almost certainly not making it to the final fight unless you did something really weird. But yea, the materia setup in this video is just absurdly simple and makes things easy. Other guides are overly complicated, trying to plan for this and that and all sorts of complex battle tactics. With the setup in this video, you can just faceroll everything. It's really just stupidly simple. If you get to chapter 18 on hard mode and still don't have all the materia fully leveled, just go back to the combat sim at the beginning of chapter 17 and play the "Two-Person vs High Flyers" and use an area of attack to kill the pack of Bugaboos almost instantly. Cloud's Triple Slash or Blade Burst works with Tifa's Divekick. You can finish the battle in seconds. Then give up and do it again. Just farm that first battle against the Bugaboos for a little bit and you'll gain crazy AP for all your materia.

Yea the Barret thing is just to be consistent mate, if I don't give instructions for that part, then I have absolutely no idea how each individual will utilise him, this is the only I can be sure if it will work out because if Barret joins you at the end, basically messes up the whole thing and would require a whole restart. Maybe it is overkill, but at least its certain i guess ;)

I’ll say you really missed a trick with this one! Using refocus right at the beginning is a huge game changer. Plus if you utilise elemental materia paired with lightning and fire on cloud and Tifa makes this fight so much easier as well.

I tried everything with this boss mate, just like with them all, with this 1 in particular, it was just the easiest most efficient way to do it. It's a messy fight so the defensive and patience option just works better here Tried full on attack, other abilities/spells but just gets wayyy to messy then and more difficult to pull off

I didn't look at too many of guides for this, or I did and just didn't like what I saw early on so quit video, but I remember a few Sephiroth vids where they were similar, had u doing fancy moves which were not necessary and requires wasting time learning the moves. Of course I figured a way which is again, so much simpler without any showing off ;), makes me wonder why the others have u doing more complicated strategies!! That's how it is with video games, u follow a GPS for example, and u expect the easiest most efficient way to ur destination, but with video games, creators don't think like that and think you are not bothered abt that approach because videos game and so just show u whatever it seems ;) (a lot plagiarism is out there as well) Anyhow, glad u did it mate, and I have some DLC videos btw if u get onto that, haven't quite finished it all yet though

I actually can't comment on that as hard mode is what I haven't done yet on the DLC, but if u keep an eye on my uploads, once u get see FF7 DLC Hard Vids go up, u will know, hopefully early next year

More comments!!! So, after doing Top Secrets and gushing how I became a fan, I didn't even use your guides for the rest of my chapters because I'm that stupid 🤣. I did recognize your voice and name so whenever I actually saw a video of yours or went on PSNP I knew who you were and that you were my Savior. I sound crazy, creepy, and a stalker 😂. I promise I'm harmless. Mostly :P. Tho, if you want me to kidnap you and make you my platinum guide slave I have no problems with that :P. I would force you to play Kingdom Hearts since it is a sin that you haven't played those games. Unless if you have? I don't see guides for them not that I need them lol. The boss in this video is really a KH boss in disguise lol. The good thing about KH is the story is so convoluted that no one is even playing them for the story anymore since I kno you're part 'skip story' gang like me :P. KH1's story is good tho. The rest onwards lol.... and this is coming from a diehard KH fan. Anyways, I'm not sure why I didn't follow these guides lol. I was more into reading guides than watching at the time? Who knows. Watching this now, I truly have lots of regrets not following this. Your guide looks way better than what I was doing. Same with the Arsenal fight and same with Sephy. I did them all myself. Why? Its like that with most the hard bosses unfortunately, with any strategy. I know a lot of players like the difficulty, but i likely would have never touched hard mode if not for the trophy. Though using the DLC to get Gotterdammerung x 3 may actually make it so u can cheese most bossfights without any real strategy

I don't know how your game allows you to cast manawall consistantly, Tifa can cast it like 1 out of 15 tries, and the bahamut insta-wipes your team every time. the games most annoying fight

I have pride of joy to complete and this last fight for the Platinum. I am struggling with Pride and Joy so was hoping to be able to do this fight first to level up a bit. But I dont have the Gotterwhateveritis as it is a reward for Pride and Joy so I wont be able to follow this strat with that limit break there for cloud. Is there any other way of completing this fight on hard without the Gotterthing reward or is it too tough? Would you say I have to do Pride and Joy 1st?

It would be a lot tougher without Gotterdammerung, you wouldn't be able to go at it sorta defensively like this without it. Are you not level 50 then?? You can level up quick in Chapter 16, I have a vid on that Thing is, once you have the appropriate setup, completing Whisper before Pride and Joy won't make Pride and Joy any easier, it will still be the same difficulty. But..... Doing Pride and Joy first WILL make Whisper easier as u then have Gotterdammerung!! So you just gotta decide how u wanna do it really, do u wanna keep going at it or just crack on with Pride and Joy which u have to do anyway and then Whisper will be easier........decisions ;)

Bahamut didnt even get to summon Ifirit just like in your video 🤣👌🏻 Now I have Gotterdamerung I am going to do the same with the final fight on hard, which is my final trophy for the plat 👌🏻🏆 This one has taken a decent amount of time tbf, but it would have taken twice as long and would have been only half as enjoyable and double as frustrating without your guides for hard mode. But I have my previous save file in chapter 17 and I trying to find Chadley in Hojo's Lab in the end not able to make it. So what I can do is I just keep walk around the jenova lab to leveling my character and material. If still not able to fight whisper bahamut i might change to difficulty to easy mode

Yea it's not a big problem, it makes Barrier last for 10 or 15 secs longer is all, think it's an extra 25% iirc. I like to use it as it removes the magnify reduction

This is on Tifa yea, well not really anything else is off use as we are using Cloud mainly with Tifa/Aerith splashed in I had a draft where I put Gotterdammerung on Tifa and Fury Ring on Cloud, but settled with this build in the end, it messed it up too much when having to count on Tifa limit I guess you could put the ATB item on Tifa so she gets ATB faster, do you have that one?? Sure I remember a accessory that lets your ATB build quicker, that could be good on here, or if not maybe a Fury Ring so when she is attacking, ur guaranteed she will do what I show then

You can yea, you give and receive 30% damage, but with Barrier active and Cloud being controlled always, Tifa shouldn't take too much damage, the extra 30% she has on her attack could help a lot I guess

Is it a unique weapon skill?? I ask because with those, once you have maxed it, then you can use it on any weapon. You should find the info in the menus

Go into battles with that weapon, use the skill and eventually it will level up and can be used by all. Looking at weapons on the stats screen usually shows unique kills current progress in bottom right corner......??

You have to link the materia with the Magnify materia, then you press the Dpad I think while highlight to switch from the magnify or normal version Don't recall exactly the button to switch, but magnify is the materia it's linked with

In my walkthrough, we did everything in story order, even the Bahamut challenge. Though I dont have all manuscripts. Idea was that most players will be doing hard mode in story order..
